What to watch on Wednesday, November 13...
Despite their popularity as pets, privateer companions, and sitcom plot devices, parrots are often ill-suited to captivity. Their seven-plus-decade lifespan and their tendency to form intense bonds make them more high-maintenance than many pet owners can handle. “Parrot Confidential” spotlights the turbulent lives of these brainy birds and the efforts of sanctuaries to care for abandoned ones.
8pm, The CW
Diggle has a brush with Amanda Waller in “Keep Your Enemies Closer,” leading him to pursue Deadshot and a missing Lyla in Moscow. Team Arrow tags along—as does Isabel. Back in Starling City, Moira’s lawyer frets that Thea’s relationship with clean-cut hoodlum Roy is a liability for Moira’s case.
Frankie turns to a rescue dog for comfort and Axl turns to Brick for tutoring in “The Jump.” Meanwhile, Sue adds the school volleyball team to her roster of extracurricular activities.
Charlie is torn as Rachel and Gene continue to hash out their relationship, while Miles and crew hash out a plan for not getting killed to death. Elsewhere in “Come Blow Your Horn,” Neville rolls the dice on a risky play with the Patriots.
Law & Order: SVU
In “Military Justice,” Benson and Amaro suspect a junior military officer was raped by other members of her unit. But the victim’s reluctance to cooperate hampers the investigation, as does the active interference of her commanding officer.
Annual festivities at the high school bring out the whole clan in “A Fair to Remember.” Phil plans a 20th anniversary surprise for Claire at the fairgrounds, Jay reluctantly works security alongside his rival, Cam’s bad mood puts a damper on the day, and Haley awkwardly meets a young man with a sterling name.
9pm, The CW
The Tomorrow People
Out on the town in “Sorry for Your Loss,” Stephen and Russell encounter a potential new break-out and must let John and Cara know without tipping off Ultra. Closer to home, a family tragedy strikes Russell and a mortifying secret could leave Jedikiah’s career in ashes.
American Horror Story
“The Axeman Cometh” this week, and would anyone be surprised if he were singing the lead track off Revolver but with slightly grislier lyrics? Speaking of which, Cordelia unleashes her new power here, there, and everywhere, and Zoe, Queenie, Nan, and the imprisoned dark spirit they contact all live in a yellow submarine.
With Teddy’s nuptials nearing in “She’s Got You,” a rudderless Maddie hopes to bond with Deacon while Rayna and Luke compare parenting and relationship scars. On tour, Juliette incurs the wrath of a sleazy DJ—and Layla reaps the benefits.
The crew finds a corpse inside a person-sized hamster ball in “Helpless,” because those are the sorts of things that happen when you’re a cop procedural and well into your 14th season.
“The Credit Card Alert” finds Ellie’s basketball coach gumming up the works for everybody. In entiringly unsurprising developments, Pete’s latest ladyfriend has baggage, and Andre impotently flails about while trying to shepherd a trade through.
