What to watch on Wednesday, October 17...

Hi ho, hi ho, into the Wednesday's TV lineup we go!

8pm, NBC
Animal Practice
Guest-star Annie Potts' Virginia—George's overbearing mother—is the focal point of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Coleman?" as George attempts to save his mother's sick cat or risk having to comfort her. Could she possibly be that terrible? Meanwhile, Dorothy gives Dr. Leiter some tips for facing the board of directors.

MINISERIES PREMIERE, 8pm, REELZ
World Without End
Former Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon returns to the small screen as the evil Petranilla in this miniseries based on the best-selling medieval novel of the same name by Ken Follett. It's also the sequel to the 2010 miniseries The Pillars of the Earth. In tonight's two-hour episode "Medieval Life and Death," we meet a mysterious knight named Langley, a king gets overthrown by his son, and a young woman is forced into marriage. Aren't you glad we don't live in the dark ages?

8pm, The CW
Arrow
Who's excited for Arrow's second episode tonight? In "Honor Thy Father," Oliver discovers Laurel is prosecuting a criminal who's connected to both his father and the Chinese Triad; things get dangerous when the Triad sends their top mercenary—China White—after Laurel. Will Arrow save the day? (Probably!)

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 9:30pm, ABC
Suburgatory
In tonight's Season 2 opener, Tessa returns to her suburban lifestyle in Chatswin after spending the summer in the city with her grandmother. While in Manhattan, she developed an interest with her mother's musical side, leaving George feeling threatened. Meanwhile, Noah wants his former housekeeper Carmen—who currently works for Dallas—to work for him again.

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 10pm, FX
American Horror Story: Asylum
Finally! Not only does AHS Season 2 come with a new narrative, but also a new setting; new cast members including Adam Levine, Chloe Sevigny, and Jenna Dewan; and a few returning cast members playing new characters, including Jessica Lange and Evan Peters (woo!). What "item" from the promos are you most crazy excited to see in this new season? The "hydrobath?" The glass prison? The creepy nuns?

LATE-NITE HIGHLIGHTS:
Miley Cyrus and John Caparule on Chelsea Lately, 11 p.m., E!
Joel McHale on Jimmy Kimmel Live, 12 a.m., ABC
Football analyst Kay Adams and reality-TV star Carson Kressley on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, 12:37 a.m., CBS

WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING TONIGHT?

PSSSST UPDATE HEY FYI!!! If you see both your Tuesday and Wednesday choices in your comment, we've got a quick fix: Go to your Watch History list (under "My Lists" at the top of any page on the site, if you're logged in) and remove your picks from today. Then come back to this article and choose them again. You should then see only your Wednesday's choices.

It happened because we made an error in our code this morning, but all should be fixed! Thanks for your patience.
