What to Watch Tonight: Bent, Criminal Minds, and Happy Endings

What to watch on Wednesday, March 21...

If you decide to just stay in bed until 8 p.m. tonight, that is fine with your TV! Just be up and at 'em before these things start happening:

SERIES PREMIERE, 9pm, NBC
Bent
Something tells me this title wouldn't work as well in the U.K.? But anyway! Here's a new NBC comedy about a newly divorced mom who moves to a fixer-upper and hires an irresistibly charming handyman. A second new episode follows, that one concerning even more awkward shenanigans of the heart. (And because I'm assuming you're not yet enticed by this premise, please keep in mind that Arrested Development's Jeffrey Tambor is in this thing.)

9pm, CBS
Criminal Minds
Tonight Morgan's troubled past will come in handy when he bonds with a recently rescued kidnapping victim. Meanwhile the team attempts to track down said serial kidnapper in time for pub trivia night!

9:30pm, ABC
Happy Endings
In "You Snooze, You Bruise," Dave finds himself being bullied at the gym and former-bully Alex steps in to teach him how to fight back. Meanwhile, new condo-association president Jane ticks off all her residents and inspires a recall campaign. Ugh, politics!

10pm, USA
Psych
Get ready for awkward singing, if not matching sweater vests! Tonight Shawn and Gus join forces with former members of Gus' a cappella group in order to investigate a local youth center shooting.

10pm, Comedy Central
South Park
In "Cash For Gold," Cartman decides to start a home shopping network for gemstones and Stan mulls whether or not to sell a piece of jewelry given to him by his grandfather. For the record, I don't think that's very nice.

8pm, CBS
Survivor: One World
Not another one! According to this week's promos, a second castmember faces game-threatening injury this week. Tune in to witness the possible carnage! (Also, typical scheming and buffoonery will continue.)

Criminal Minds!! With retired profiler Jim Clemente doing the writing, this rapidly failing show is going to get a burst of new energy, competence, and intelligence! Cannot wait for real profiling again!

Yay! for Happy Endings and Psych.

Also, The Soup and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Maybe I'll watch Joel McHale on Conan online tomorrow.

Maybe Bent. I figure I'll give it a try.

After 16 years of support, seeing every episode, going to the movie on a packed opening night, etc., I have officially given up on South Park. Last week's first 5 minutes were too much Cartman's ugliness and too much INCREDIBLY STUPID writing and soap boxing for me to continue suffering through this shell of a formerly brilliant series. There used to be a time when Cartman was just an annoying fat kid, rather than a horrible Bond villain every episode, when he used to be part of the gang and occasionably tolerable and relatable, instead of just all racism and hate all the time. It's boring being The Cartman Show, especially with every episode making every character stupider and stupider so Matt & Trey can shove another half-baked "real America" opinion down viewers' throats. So I'm frustrated to say that I'm done, last week it came off the DVR series recordings list and Ugly Americans got a pre-show 1-minute bump (since Comedy Central cannot program the beginning or end of a show to save their lives anymore).

My understanding is those gold places tend to be a rip-off. I guess it's one thing if you have some old jewelry that you KNOW you never plan on wearing again, or if you're in serious need of cash.

But I'd be hard pressed to part with something of sentimental value unless I really really needed the money. IE, lost my job and trying to make rent or whatever.
