What to Watch Tonight: Breaking In, New Girl, and The River

What to watch on Tuesday, March 6...

Just when Monday was starting to get fun, it's suddenly Tuesday! Thanks a lot, week. You're an incorrigible trickster! Anyway:

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 9:30pm, Fox
Breaking In
If you had a vague recollection that Breaking In was canceled last year, don't worry, you're not going crazy. It was definitely canceled at one point! But this reasonably well-liked Christian Slater vehicle returns tonight for a whole new season. In tonight's premiere, the security agency is bought by a slightly unhinged new boss who looks and acts like Megan Mullally.

10pm, FX
Justified
Raylan cannot catch a break and tonight a shocking murder will force him to deal with some of the skeletons in his closet. Elsewhere Boyd decides to cross Harlan's shady sheriff, because he's Boyd and that's what Boyd does.

9pm, Fox
New Girl
Tonight Nick accidentally hurts his back playing touch football, but his lack of health insurance leads Jess to decide to take him to her OB/GYN friend for help. That is not the appropriate kind of doctor, Jess!

SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, Lifetime
Prank My Mom
No, it's not a Tim & Eric sketch, it's a REAL SHOW. Prank My Mom is Lifetime's newest lady-based reality show, and in it, kids get up to some hidden-camera shenanigans and moms are the targets. In tonight's premiere the pranks involve shopping, internet dating, and visiting sperm banks because WHAT? Cut it out, Lifetime.

9pm, ABC
The River
In "Doctor Emmet Cole," the crew discovers the titular missing character's camera satchel somewhere in the jungle and guess what they find inside of it? You guessed it, MORE TAPES. Cool, can't wait to watch more footage of people watching footage. Hopefully one of the tapes includes footage of Emmet watching footage so that we get the full triple-decker of boring.

SEASON 3 PREMIERE, 10pm, Science
Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman
Sometimes it seems like the only show I care about anymore is Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman. You know? It's not just his soothing voice and soulful, infinitely benevolent glare: The science is really interesting, too. For example, in tonight's season premiere, President Freeman (fingers-crossed!) addresses the question "Will we survive first contact?" It is a GOOD question and quite frankly I would like to know the answer.

"BOOM!!! GO's THE DYNAMITE"

I love Cash with his shot for shot remake of classic star wars and Christian Slater for being the perfect combo of awsome and crazy in this show. I'm so glad its back even though at first I thought I would hate it, now I love it, please give it a chance.

Holy crap, back for another round of cancelation, it's Breaking In! The Mediocre Train That Thought it Could and Got Fooled Into Thinking So By Fox. Adding Megan Mullally to the cast is a HUUUUUUGE mistake, she's an expensive actress, she has a very specific type of humor range, and Christian Slater as the boss was the only thing going for this show so now it's going to make even less sense.

Justified and New Girl. Can someone explain to me how that works? I mean Breaking In was cancelled and now it's not? How does that happen? I guess the secret is locked away along with the cure for cancer and how to end world hunger...

When I watch a television show, or any of my friends watch a television show we do so via DRM free download. I can't imagine actually watching something on an actual TV, I don't even own one. As I said this is the case for my friends as well. I imagine this is very common for people in my age group (i'm 29). So what we watch doesn't count I guess. Or rather a chunk of our age group (and probably others) doesn't really count.

I'm glad Breaking In is back. It was quite the funny show. Unfortunately, I read that Odette Annable is only going to be in a couple episodes :(. Hopefully with House going off, she'll eventually have time to come back in her main role.

Right. So uh, I'll be watching Breaking In, Justified, New Girl, and The River. Also, of course, Joel McHale on the Late Late Show w. CF.
