What to watch on Thursday, August 15...
When you’re a spy show, your protagonist often has to make agonizing choices. For Michael in “Things Unseen,” that means deciding how far he’ll go in service of the mission when an old friend starts poking holes in his cover. Meanwhile, a ruffian sets his sights on Fiona’s boyfriend, plunging Sam and Jesse into the midst of a gang war.
A priest’s murder may be linked to organized crime in “Fallen Angel,” though to be honest that logline just makes me want to go watch On the Waterfront again.
The house mobilizes to quash the all-out conflict between Bello and the Caza Cartel in “Smoke Alarm.” Elsewhere, Charlie gains surprising support, Briggs owns up to his past, and I just about run out of new ways to express both of those stock B-stories.
Andy and Nick make a bold claim for the Royal Canadian Worst Babysitters of the Year Award when Chris’s son is snatched on their watch. As the squad scours the city for the kid in “What I Lost,” Andy and Nick’s new bond comes to Swarek’s attention.
Hollywood Game Night
One of tonight’s games tests the tunefulness of Kristin Chenoweth, Felicity Huffman, Dominic Monaghan, Aubrey Plaza, Molly Shannon, and Wilmer Valderamma, which sounds completely fair to the five of them who aren’t Tony-winning Broadway musical performers.
“Distance” pits Ryan, Wilfred, and a cunning old acquaintance against one another in a battle of wits. Were I a betting man, I would probably place my chips on the one in this struggle who is neither a dog nor a human experiencing a near-constant break from reality.
Sullivan & Son
“Over the Edge” finds a prank war consuming all and sundry. Hopefully it respects the laws and protocols of pub-centric prank warfare, as established in the landmark Cheers-Gary’s Old Town Tavern Accords of 1993.

Each week, hosts Ed Sanders and Marcus Hunt tackle a piece of complex machinery from opposite perspectives: One follows the instructions to the letter, and the other wings it. In the first two outings, they try their hands at piloting stunt planes and hauling locomotives.

Nashville’s Fletcher Rowley and Atlanta's breensmith are the ad agencies competing to woo the business of schlepping service College Hunks Hauling Junk.

Cat’s vacation house hosts her wedding to Michael in “Country Weekend,” and all the docs come out to fete the happy couple. I can’t wait for Blake’s recitation of First Corinthians.

When Kove’s little black book goes AWOL in “Burn After Killing,” can the slow decay and death of all romance in the greater San Diego area be far behind?
