What to watch on Thursday, December 8...

Thursday nights are like the six-foot sandwiches of TV. You know you won't finish it all, but gosh darnit, it's worth a shot. Behold:

8pm, NBC
Community
Tonight Community takes a few playful jabs at a certain musical dramedy when SNL cast member Taran Killam appears as Greendale's choir director and calls on the study group to fill in for his holiday glee club spectacular. But will the gang get over their skepticism and embrace the holiday spirit? You'll never know unless you watch!

ORIGINAL MOVIE, 9pm, OWN
Becoming Santa
In this original documentary special, a decidedly "unjolly" guy decides to dress up as Santa Claus in order to recapture his lost Christmas spirit. This includes enrolling at a Santa school, appearing in a Christmas parade, ringing a collections bell, and interviewing other career Santas about how they do it. If you recognize your father or grandfather in this documentary, blame Oprah.

9pm, Fox
Bones
After a storm chaser winds up dead, the team suspects his death may not have been related to the twister he was following. Meanwhile, Angela's father (Z.Z. Top guitarist Billy F. Gibbons, obviously) may or may not be the ideal babysitter for little Michael.

9pm, NBC
The Office
Tonight's Mindy Kaling-scripted holiday episode concerns Andy's quest to grant everybody's holiday wishes. Meanwhile, Robert California makes a mess of the holiday party when his marital problems cause him to drown his sorrows.

10pm, FX
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Whoops! It's high school reunion time and there's so much awkwardness in store that this episode is only the first of a two-parter. Tonight, witness the gang's interactions with former friends and foes as they all drink in moderation and have serious discussions at normal volumes. (Those last bits were all lies.)

10pm, NBC
Grimm
Prime Suspect's loss is Grimm's gain, as NBC has scheduled a brand-new episode of its surprise hit fantasy procedural following its Must-See Comedy block. Tonight a high school music teacher's murder leads Nick to question a mysterious and troubled child prodigy, but is the kid adept at music or [screechy violins] MURDERRRRR?
