What to Watch Tonight: Happy Endings, Raising Hope, and Nicole Ritchie on The New Normal

What to watch on Tuesday, October 30...

What are you scared of? (Besides goblins, taxes, and Hurricane Sandy, of course.) As for me, I won't mention anyone by name, but there are a few overeager politicians out there who give me the willies. Oh, and the end of the world. But hey, let's look on the bright side: At least we have television to make us laugh and take our mind off the world's scariest things. How convenient, then, that tonight's lineup is full of Halloween-themed comedy...

8pm, FOX
Raising Hope
In "Don't Ask, Don't Tell Me What to Do," Sabrina asks Jimmy to hang out with her gay best friend and his partner. Not knowing what to expect, Jimmy asks Burt for help, leading to an awkward moment between Burt and Virginia when she wonders if he's always been going to gay bars. Plus Halloween-themed things.

9pm, ABC
Happy Endings
In "Sabado Free-Gante," Dave and Alex's inability to commit to a new apartment causes grief for their real estate agent (guest-star Rachael Harris). Meanwhile, Jane shows Penny how to negotiate with a car salesman while Max shows Brad how to have a good night out on the town with no money at all. Plus Halloween-themed things. Can the costumes in tonight's episode possibly top last year's ZZ Top Gun? Only time will tell.

9pm, FOX
New Girl
In "Halloween," Jess gets a new job as a zombie at a haunted house. Elsewhere, Cece and Schmidt accidentally wear similar costumes and Nick meets up (and hooks up?) with a childhood crush.

9:30pm, FOX
The Mindy Project
In "Halloween" (try a little harder with your episode titles, Mindy Project and New Girl!), Mindy is invited to a Halloween party and worries about finding the perfect costume. We've all been there, Mindy. Meanwhile, Danny and Jeremy take their driver's tests. Wait... on Halloween? And why do you think they waited so long? Well, hopefully in costume!

9:30pm, ABC
Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23
Something tells me Halloween is Chloe's favorite holiday. In tonight's "Love and Monsters..." June discovers that Chloe celebrates the holiday with elaborate "tricks." Meanwhile, James combats a deep-seated childhood fear of the spooktacular holiday, by throwing his annual Halloween "Positivity" Party!

10pm, NBC
The New Normal
In "Para-New Normal Activity," Bryan goes on his annual trip to the pumpkin patch with his celebrity BFF Nicole Richie (guest-starring as herself). Meanwhile, David is opposed to Bryan's Halloween costume idea, and Goldie's ex-husband makes an announcement.

10pm, FX
Sons of Anarchy
Tonight's SoA may not be Halloween-themed, but it will (like always) involve bloody violence! In "Ablation," we see strong alliances fall apart and new deals being made.

10pm, USA
Covert Affairs
Christopher Gorham, a.k.a. Auggie, steps behind the camera tonight to direct "Man in the Middle," in which Annie receives intel from Mossad about a scheduled meeting between two terrorists and has only 12 hours to track them down (I hope Brody's not sending them any texts!). Also: Parker is back, which can only mean there's heartbreak ahead.

Kate Hudson and filmmaker Ken Burns on Late Show with David Letterman, 11:35pm, CBS
John C. Reilly and Jenni "JWoww" Farleyon The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, 11:35pm, NBC
Howard Stern and Tracy Morgan on Jimmy Kimmel Live, 12am, NBC
Russell Brand and Andy Cohen on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, 12:37am, NBC
Jay Leno on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, 12:37am, CBS
