What to watch on Monday, December 5...

As much as we'd all like to skip today, we can't. Deal with it. But deal with it gently, by complimenting strangers or smiling at co-workers. We're all in this together. Team Monday! Oh, and here are some TV picks:

HOLIDAY SPECIAL, 8pm, NBC
A Sing-Off Holiday Special
NBC cordially invites you to join the judges and guests of The Sing-Off for this just-for-fun showcase of holiday music and product placement. Performances include the winning groups from each season as well as an ensemble of lead singers from Season 3. Plus special guests! And probably some unspecial guests, but you'll have to decide for yourself what's what.

10pm, CBS
Hawaii Five-0
Whoops! A whole bus full of school children gets kidnapped! Those lucky kids. Honestly, who among us wouldn't mind being kidnapped at this point? Mondays, am I right?

9:30pm, HBO
Enlightened
Tonight Amy's difficult mother Helen gets a moment in the spotlight when a grocery store run-in with an old friend causes her to reminisce about her deceased husband. Later, Levi drops by and vents to Helen about how she contributed to the destruction of his marriage. Not a great day for Helen, in other words.

HOLIDAY SPECIAL, 8pm, ABC
A Charlie Brown Christmas
If you're looking for a nice, HD version of the original 1965 Charlie Brown Christmas special, look no further than ABC around 8pm tonight. A major showcase for composer Vince Guaraldi and also possibly propaganda for the medication of depressed children, the special remains pretty awesome.

ORIGINAL SPECIAL, 9pm, A&E;
Long Island Serial Killer
Investigation Discovery, call your lawyers. This here's a two-hour special on the real-life mystery of a serial killer (or killers) responsible for dumping bodies along a stretch of Long Island beach. WHO did it? (Was it you? Be honest.)

SERIES PREMIERE, 8pm, Sundance
The Mortified Sessions
The long-running stage show has been adapted to features celebrities and take place in a basic cable talk-show format. In tonight's premiere, find out what real-life writings or mementos cause Ed Helms and Mo'Nique to blush.
