Regular Show: The Thanksgiving Special
Bad news, everyone! Planning to host Thanksgiving for their families, Mordecai and Rigby promptly bollix up the entire repast. Ehh whaaa? As TV characters, they’re innately capable of ruining a holiday AND rescuing it at the last minute? Good news, everyone!
How I Met Your Mother
We’ve known for eight seasons or more
That gimmicks, these writers adore.
So what have they cooked up this time?
Why, an ep written only in rhyme!
“Bedtime Stories,” which Marshall recites,
Tell three tales of his friends’ kooky nights.
And if that weren’t enough for one week
Please welcome back James Van Der Beek!
Dancing With the Stars
Four pairings head into the season’s final performance round, which Wikipedia informs me will feature quickstep, jive, the Charleston, and the Viennese Waltz. Once again, the Robot is shamefully overlooked by America’s dance-competition programs.
8pm, The CW
Hart of Dixie
Zoe extends a Hanukkah party invitation to her uncle in “Miracles,” which naturally lands her in hot water with Vivian Wilkes once more. Meanwhile, Lemon ropes George and Lynly into helping her investigate one of Brick’s exes, Tansy persuades Wade to see a dentist about the pain in his chompers, and The Voice winner Danielle Bradbery performs for reasons that may have nothing to do with any of this.
Kennex and Dorian square off with a hostage-taker in “Are You Receiving.” Although Capt. Maldonado is willing to negotiate to spare innocent lives, Kennex is pretty sure he can glower the perp into submission.
Mike & Molly
Molly’s brush with her literary idol (Susan Sarandon) isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, since the veteran scribe’s advice is unexpectedly cynical. Meanwhile in “Careful What You Dig For,” Mike invites his mother to dinner in hopes of boosting her spirits.
SEASON 2B PREMIERE, 9pm, TNT
“Pick Your Poison” sends the squad scrambling for the source of a bad batch of drugs that’s left two high-schoolers dead. Stifled by his 24/7 security detail, Rusty considers drastic measures.
DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE, 9pm, HBO
Toxic Hot Seat
Based on a series of 2012 investigative reports in the Chicago Tribune, this expose tackles the chemicals industry’s sweeping influence over public safety regulation. Interviews with journalists, activists, firefighters, and more shed light on the effort to combat policies that've have made toxic flame retardants ubiquitous in the U.S.
SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, MTV
The debut of this new documentary series has been available through MTV’s app for a week, but it joins the old-fashioned cable TV lineup tonight. The program follows 17-year-old Breeanna, who sets out to find the 15 half-siblings with whom she shares an anonymous sperm-donor dad.
Ichabod Crane isn’t the only sturdy survivor of the 18th-century in town. A Colonial-era house is still standing as well—and as he and Abbie learn in “Sanctuary,” it’s harboring its share of dirt about Ichabod’s past, not to mention a slumbering sinister force that’s just been roused.
A mortally wounded man delivers a newborn to a priest in “The Good, the Bad, & the Baby.” When Castle and Beckett realize that the man and tot were not kin, they set out on the hunt for both the former’s killer and the latter’s parents.
“Anslo Garrick” is such a big-time baddie that the FBI will need a two-part episode to cross him off the list. But before they do, ol’ Anslo manages to weasel his way into the black site, intending to nab Red. Liz wishes she could help, but the writers have seen fit to trap her in an elevator instead.
