What to watch on Tuesday, April 9...
A Navy reservist with a vanished husband and a blood-drenched living room? NCIS, you are stone-cold lifting mysteries straight from Encyclopedia Brown now. As the gang tries to solve the Case of the Spattered Sofa in “Chasing Ghosts,” Tony thinks Ziva may be scheming to avenge her dad’s death.
8pm, The CW
Hart of Dixie
Let the WOOOOO-ing commence as spring break hits BlueBell in “Why Don’t We Get Drunk.” Lavon hopes to turn the town into a partier’s paradise, Zoe and Jonah cut loose with reckless yet Standards & Practices-approved abandon, and Brick’s kooky behavior raises red flags.
SERIES PREMIERE, 9pm, NBC
Ready for Love
A dozen women competing for the affections of a strapping bohunk? Why, that’s a reality show concept so crazy it just might work! In the opener, 36 contestants meet the first of three eligible bachelors on the line, identified in the press materials as “rock star Tim Lopez of the Plain White T’s.” Though for all I know, this guy’s claim to fame could’ve been opening for Jesse and the Rippers in Fresno in ‘93.
The titular “Bachelorette Party” is thrown by Jess to fete Cece’s impending knot-tying, prompting Nick and Winston to take Shivrang out for some bro-time. Schmidt looks up his old college girlfriend as part of a frantic quest to find a plus-one for the wedding, since NBC rejected his application to be on Ready for Love.
“Syria: Behind the Lines” investigates the ongoing civil war from the perspectives of rebel fighters, government troops, and civilians enmeshed in the turmoil. The report focuses on toll the conflict has taken on Idlib province, a region divided into Sunni villages backing the rebel effort and Alawite entrenchments supporting the regime of Bashar al-Assad.
Body of Proof
It’s up to Megan to exonerate Tommy after she finds him at the scene of a girl’s murder, soaked in blood and unable to recall what happened. For those scoring at home, that makes “Doubting Tommy” the second episode tonight for which the synopsis involves something covered with blood. I am frigging terrified to read what happens on Cougar Town right now.
SEASON 4 FINALE, 10pm & 10:30pm, TBS
“Don’t Fade on Me” kicks off the two-part finale with Chick house-sitting for the vacationing Cul de Sac Crew, but only after Jules takes him to his first doctor’s visit in years. When it turns out he’s facing health issues, the gang decides to take him to Hollywood in “Have Love Will Travel,” where they strive to introduce him to Tippi Hedren. Meanwhile, Laurie and Travis go on an honest-to-goodness date and then plan out their first honest-to-goodness kiss.
Let’s Stay Together
As they celebrate their anniversary in “The Need for Speed,” Stacy develops an unhealthy fixation on Charles’ motorcycle. Elsewhere, a mob boss Jamal represents is sent to the hoosegow, and Crystal takes umbrage with Kita’s indulging in Darkanian’s perks—that free sandwich belongs solely to the person who ate the first ten, dammit!
