What to watch on Tuesday, January 17...
Hopefully you're getting mentally prepared for all the good dramas on tonight, and I am not talking about Dance Moms (this time). Because tonight's schedule, it is dramatic and it is handsome.
SEASON 3 PREMIERE, 10pm, FX
Justified
Things just get tougher and tougher for Raylan when the arrival of a Detroit mafioso places Raylan in the crosshairs of a Dixie hit man. Meanwhile Boyd is NOT happy with Raylan, and you better believe they'll be a'bickerin'.
9pm, Fox
New Girl
When preparations for Schmidt's 29th birthday party go awry, Jess steps in to be his party planner. Meanwhile Nick dates a lady lawyer who does not end up being as attractive as he'd originally thought. (Spoiler.)
SEASON 4 PREMIERE, 10pm, TNT
Southland
Tonight sees the return of TNT's grittiest cop show (sorry, Rizzoli & Isles) for another season of angst-heavy gunplay. In the Season 4 opener, Jon returns to work following his back surgery and meets his new partner, who bears a striking resemblance to Lucy Liu. Meanwhile various members of the squad must deal with an armed man who runs into an elementary school. Oh, come on, criminal! Uncool.
MIDSEASON PREMIERE, 10pm, USA
White Collar
Matthew Bomer and his face return to cable tonight when Neal and Peter try to track down a U-boat treasure to exchange for a kidnapped Elizabeth. In the process, Peter will get all butt-hurt when he finds out about Neal's secret cache of untold riches. But come on, who could stay mad at Neal?
SERIES PREMIERE, 9pm, CW
Remodeled
In The CW's newest reality show devoted to professionally beautiful people, modeling agency veteran Paul Fischer travels the country attempting to save and/or revitalize smaller local modeling agencies. It's basically Tabatha's Salon Takeover but with models. Or, if you prefer, Restaurant: Impossible but with models. Either way, models.
SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, Spike
Ink Master
Here's a reality competition series worth getting nervous about: Ten tattoo artists face off in elimination contests for a grand prize of $100,000. Um, so, what happens to the recipients of the losing tattoos? Not a rhetorical question, I'm genuinely curious.
