What to watch on Tuesday, May 1...

If you like Tuesday television, today's probably going to be a good day for you. First of all, it's Tuesday. But also these things all look pretty good! Enjoy:

8pm, Fox
Glee
We're edging into the unknown as Kurt and Rachel gear up to move on from McKinley. Tonight they'll both audition for the New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts and guest-star Whoopi Goldberg will be presiding over their admissions. Meanwhile Puck meets up with his father and decides to make a big decision about HIS future.

CROSSOVER EVENT, 9pm, CBS
NCIS: Los Angeles
In part 2 of this epic crossover event with Hawaii Five-0, we'll find out just how Sam, Callen, Danny and Chin Ho will stop a dastardly criminal in possession of a deadly virus. I'm guessing through gun play and one-liners, but I've been wrong before!

9pm, Fox
New Girl
In "Backslide," both Nick and Jess find themselves getting in touch with their exes, including guest-star Justin Long. Meanwhile Schmidt still deals with a tender crotchal region, Winston parties too hard with his boss, and Cece introduces Schmidt to her grandmother.

10pm, ABC
Private Practice
Tonight Private Practice deals with a smattering of controversial issues: The characters will deal with a pregnant illegal immigrant who will do anything it takes to give birth in the U.S. Also Cooper and Violet deal with a young girl who has gender-identity disorder. Meanwhile Violet insists she and Pete undergo more couples therapy before getting back together. Okay that issue is not as controversial, but maybe it's a controversy of THE HEART.

ORIGINAL SPECIAL, 9pm, VH1
Uprising: Hip Hop & The LA Riots
To mark the 20th anniversary of the 1992 L.A. riots, lots of specials and documentaries will be hitting the airwaves, but this one looks most interesting: A recounting of one of L.A.'s most nightmarish incidents as remembered by singers, rioters, victims, police officers, rappers, and journalists. Good times?
