What to Watch Tonight: Perception, Opening Act, and The Bachelorette

What to watch on Monday, July 9...

Did you guys do anything cool this weekend? My friends and I attempted to fill a kiddie pool with our own sweat. Sometimes you gotta go gross to go green, you know? Speaking of, remember those Sesame Street PSAs about how not to waste water? The little water droplet dude would drip out of the sink and start taunting you, singing, "Water waster! Water waster!" God, that was horrifying. Let's think about something else... like your TV lineup for tonight:

8pm, ABC
The Bachelorette
We're honing in on the last few episodes here, so there's really no way I can't feature this show as something to watch. Even if you haven't been tuning in all season, now's the time to jump on board just to capitalize on the intensity of it all. Seriously, Emily has this crazy effect on grown men where's she's effortlessly able to make them cry big, sopping tears. It's a sight to be seen and I'm secretly hoping she sends Shaun home tonight so we can watch him crack. He's the least likely to sob of the last three standing, after all. Anyway, tonight's events will take place in Curacao. Emily must decide who to invite into the fantasy suite (ooOOoo, take 'em all, Em!) and which two men are worthy of meeting her little Ricki next week.

8pm, ABC Family
The Secret Life of the American Teenager
In "Lies and Byes," Ricky and Amy struggle with how to react to their family's request to throw them a wedding reception. Uh... accept it, you guys. It's free stuff! Also, Anne and George are informed that Ashley's going off to Italy to study cooking. Will they convince her to stay?

SEASON 9 PREMIERE, 10pm, Oxygen
Bad Girls Club: Mexico
Wow, this show still exists, eh? Let's make the most of it: This season takes place in Mexico, so the scenery should be fantastic. Hooray! And if you're one for drama, you'll be pleased to note that the girls waste no time hating on each other from the get-go. Because girls dissing girls is super entertaining! Gag. I feel like the day viewers stop encouraging catty female stereotypes, the world will implode. So I guess let's keep watching?

Opening Act
Here it is: The bridge between YouTube and television is somehow, kind of, being built. And Opening Act is raw evidence. The reality show features famous musicians who turn to YouTube to find their opening musical acts on tour. The interweb musicians are then told, on-camera, of their fate and commence screaming and crying and laughing and telling everyone about how hard they've worked to get here and how lucky they feel and all that, while we, at home, sit silently on our couches shivering with envy-chills. It's gonna be fun! And the premiere features Arielle and Rod Stewart. So, there's that!

Dudes and dudettes: If nothing else, watch this new TNT drama because Eric McCormack is in it. And also Rachael Leigh Cook... but mostly Eric McCormack. Also, the premise sounds pretty cool, like a cross between A Beautiful Mind and CSI or something: McCormack plays Dr. Daniel Pierce, a neuroscientist suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, who uses his expertise in human behavior to help the FBI solve crimes. Now this is a procedural I might actually stick to!
