What to watch on Monday, November 18...
7pm, Cartoon Network
Jake is abducted and trapped in “The Pit” by Kee-Oth the Blood Demon, who may or may not add, for good measure, “When the Candy Kingdom is ashes, then you have my permission to die.” The second half of the episode lightens things up with Jake and Jake Jr. tackling “One Last Job.”
SERIES PREMIERE, PART 2, 8pm, Fox
The sci-fi cop drama settles into its regular time slot with “Skin,” which raises the question of whether human Kennex or robot Dorian will be the one bellowing “HIS FATHER IS THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY!” as they investigate a missing persons case tied to the world of illicit sexbots.
8pm, Disney Channel
After a string of well-received shorts earlier this season, “Potatoland” extends Mickey’s misadventures into a whopping 10 minutes. Why, that’s just enough time for him to join Donald and Goofy on a road trip to the titular Idaho theme park. Fingers crossed that one of the attractions there is named the Taterhorn.
How I Met Your Mother
The full Stinson clan is back under one roof in “Mom and Dad,” as John Lithgow arrives to join Barney, James, and Loretta. But the reunion inspires Barney to hatch a scheme that leaves Robin on edge.
8pm, The CW
Hart of Dixie
When hanging out with Wade cuts into Joel’s writing productivity, Zoe worries that he’s putting bros before prose. Elsewhere in “I Run to You,” Lavon uses his track-coaching duties to dodge AnnaBeth, Lemon prods Brick to re-enter the dating market, and George and Lynly debate sharing news of their relationship with Lavon.
The season so far is recapped at 8pm. Then at 9pm, the top 10 crooners perform live in a two-hour installment so spectacular, even Spader steps aside for a night to let it stretch across the full swath of primetime.
DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE, 9pm, HBO
Whoopi Goldberg Presents Moms Mabley
Whoopi Goldberg directed this profile of vaudeville star Jackie “Moms” Mabley, a trailblazing comedian who broke through barriers of racial and sexual discrimination. The film includes archival footage of Mabley’s performances, as well as interviews with Bill Cosby, Joan Rivers, Sidney Poitier, Quincy Jones, Eddie Murphy, and many more.
In "Necromancer," Ichabod, Abbie, Jenny, and Capt. Irving prepare for a showdown with the Horseman, whose true purpose may be more mind-boggling than previously realized.
9pm, BBC America
Doctor Who: Tales from the TARDIS
A veritable bounty of Doctors and companions share their thoughts on the franchise’s half-century history in this new special. Join Matt Smith, David Tennant, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Karen Gillan, Freema Agyeman, William Russell, and other time-travel veterans.
10pm, BBC America
The Science of Doctor Who With Brian Cox
Professor Brian Cox applies his physics expertise to the timey-wimey universe of the Doctor in a special program recorded at the lecture theater of the Royal Institution of Great Britain. Tune in for what will easily be the most exciting collision of science and sci-fi since Niels Bohr’s legendary seven-hour dissertation on Flash Gordon at M.I.T.
In “Disciple,” Castle and Beckett investigate the murder of a woman with a striking resemblance to Lanie. They quickly surmise that it may be no coincidence—and that the killer may have the 12th Precinct’s finest in his crosshairs.
