What to watch on Wednesday, March 13...
Survivor: Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites
Brandon will tell his tribe what he wants, what he really really wants, and he really really really wants to zigga-zigga-sabotage their entire camp and burn the game down from the inside. Tune in to “Persona Non Grata” to see how the Favorites of Bikal handle a tribemate who’s plainly flipped his gourd.
In “Nesting,” a honeymooning Whitney and Alex decamp to his family’s lake house, where they stumble upon his father in the person of guest-star Dean Norris. While they learn some disconcerting truths about Alex’s parents' marriage, back at home Mark, Lily, and Roxanne uncover a few weird facts about their friends.
“Sing Like a Larry Bird” is a tale as old as time, true as it can be, when the Bird-Kersees are bitten by the Broadway musical bug in an episode featuring songs by Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken. Larry wants to stage a production of his own to show the community a whole new world, a new fantastic point of view. But the poor unfortunate souls risk being exposed as aliens when an emergency forces them to place a 911 call.
John contemplates his future post-LAPD in “Off Duty,” while Lydia connects with a death row inmate she put away and Ben’s pursuit of a drug dealer leads him to a murky decision. Elsewhere, Sammy’s heroism lands him a spotlight in the tabloids, much to his chagrin.
“Lassie Jerky” spoofs The Blair Witch Project, as Shawn and Gus accompany some student filmmakers into the woods to shoot a Bigfoot documentary. Chupacabra is getting mightily miffed that Bigfoot keeps getting all the choice student documentary attention.
10pm, Comedy Central
Each of the guys has his own reason for needing a copy of a new video game, so surely “In Line” will pit all those reasons against one another with various comical results. Or perhaps the local electronic goods retailing concern will be amply stocked, and everyone will go home sated and happy! That seems less fraught with potential for hijinks, but you’ve got to keep an open mind about these things.
An old flame re-enters Phillip’s life in “Duty and Honor,” at a moment when his relationship with Elizabeth is already on the rocks. They reconnect while on a mission to discredit a Polish dissident, which has got to be the hoariest romantic cliche this side of the ol’ “fomenting-revolt-against-a-Central-American-despot” meet-cute.
