What to Watch Tonight: SYTYCD and the Premieres of Royal Pains and Necessary Roughness

What to watch on Wednesday, June 6...

Before you take a look at tonight's schedule, try to not to get TOO angry about it. It's summertime, after all. Relax! But yeah, slim pickings:

8pm, Fox
So You Think You Can Dance
Just please stop dancing for FIVE SECONDS so you can read this: Tonight's auditions will be in Atlanta. Okay, you can resume dancing now. Or whatever it is you THINK you're doing.

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 9pm, History
Cajun Pawn Stars
In tonight's second season premiere of the spin-off of the show you'd rather be watching, the titular deep south pawn shop owners will negotiate the acquisitions of a hydraulic dentist's chair from the early 1900s and also Geronimo's walking stick. Tune in for the thickly accented bartering, stay for the thickly accented hijinks!

SEASON 4 PREMIERE, 9pm, USA
Royal Pains
It's back! "After the Fireworks" kicks off Season 4 with a jaunty little episode concerning a food festival (featuring Top Chef Texas winner Paul Qui as himself!) at which Hank and Divya must treat the patrons. Meanwhile Evan tries to set up his own business and Jill leaves her job. Oh, Jill, good luck, girl.

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 10pm, USA
Necessary Roughness
Tonight Dani helps out with the Hawks' pre-season preparations but runs into some last minute issues! On the bright side, her secret relationship with Matt is still all hot n' heavy, so don't feel too bad for her just yet.

ORIGINAL SPECIAL, 10pm, TLC
The Man with the 200-lb Tumor
You're just going to have to look at the title of this TLC special and decide for yourself if it's something you want to watch. I can't make that call for you, and more importantly, I won't.

Queen In-hyun's Man (Korean)

Watching Korean tv is a good solution for the summer lulls. They are a fixed length (say 16 episodes) and no second seasons. Best recent one I can recommend is "Shut up and Let's Go"; it's on Hulu.

So, does anyone know how eliminations are going to work on SYTYCD now that there's only one episode a week? Are they just going to tell us who got voted out at the beginning of the next weeks episode? post it online?

WHAT ABOUT THE GROUP NUMBERS!!!???

Melissa & Joey, and maybe some of the episode of Royal Pains - they have messed up the storyline so badly with Hank leaving, who really cares now????!! Certainly no one wants to watch jerky Evan keep screwing up everything...

On the face of it slim pickings, but I might watch Necessary Roughness (which would die a fast death if it wasn't on at summertime) and there is always Stewart & Colbert. Plus, I think I'll give The Glades a try, I'll see if I can start at the beginning and catch up over the summer.

And of course there is Jennifer Love Hewitt (I just have to put up with Conan for ten minutes).
