What to watch on Thursday, January 26...
Okay, enough dilly dallying, it's go time! Tonight's schedule is chock-a-block with stuff. Get yo' head in the game:
The Big Bang Theory
In "The Beta Test Initiation," Penny and Leonard move forward with their decision to give dating another shot, and Amy helps Sheldon with his newest project. (Question: How do nerds feel about this show? Is it setting back the cause or whatever?)
8pm and 9pm, NBC
If you were like, "I'd like 30 Rock better if it were on twice," then tonight's your lucky night. At 8pm we'll get the follow-up episode to "Idiots Are People Two!" (title: "Idiots are People Three!"), in which Tracy protests the mistreatment of the nation's morons. Then at 9pm tune in for an episode in which Kenneth decides to find work as a page for someone else.
Parks and Recreation
Tonight Leslie's campaign gets underway, and she decides to shore up support at the local bowling alley. Meanwhile the rest of the staff begins cold-calling Pawnee voters to see who can raise the most campaign contributions. FINALLY, a political race that's actually entertaining.
Tonight the entire staff is chagrined when Cyril is promoted to field agent AND Mama Archer institutes a strict drug-testing policy. Weird, I had no idea these people took drugs! If you ask me, everybody needs to stop eating the drugs in the general.
Since The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle aren't airing this week, it was a straight-up genius move for The CW to program THIS movie in their place. I mean, have you even seen this thing? Male prep school witches, two of whom are TIM RIGGINS and GOSSIP GIRL NATE? Not saying I saw this in theaters opening night, but okay yeah I saw this in theaters opening night. What of it, wiotch?
SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, Food Network
Here's a reality series about a 500-pound pastry chef from Long Island and also an overweight soul-food aficionado from Harlem. They will attempt to each lose 25 percent of their body weight in 16 weeks. Intrigued?
