What to Watch Tonight: The Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock, and Parks and Recreation

What to watch on Thursday, January 26...

Okay, enough dilly dallying, it's go time! Tonight's schedule is chock-a-block with stuff. Get yo' head in the game:

8pm, CBS
The Big Bang Theory
In "The Beta Test Initiation," Penny and Leonard move forward with their decision to give dating another shot, and Amy helps Sheldon with his newest project. (Question: How do nerds feel about this show? Is it setting back the cause or whatever?)

8pm and 9pm, NBC
30 Rock
If you were like, "I'd like 30 Rock better if it were on twice," then tonight's your lucky night. At 8pm we'll get the follow-up episode to "Idiots Are People Two!" (title: "Idiots are People Three!"), in which Tracy protests the mistreatment of the nation's morons. Then at 9pm tune in for an episode in which Kenneth decides to find work as a page for someone else.

8:30pm, NBC
Parks and Recreation
Tonight Leslie's campaign gets underway, and she decides to shore up support at the local bowling alley. Meanwhile the rest of the staff begins cold-calling Pawnee voters to see who can raise the most campaign contributions. FINALLY, a political race that's actually entertaining.

10pm, FX
Archer
Tonight the entire staff is chagrined when Cyril is promoted to field agent AND Mama Archer institutes a strict drug-testing policy. Weird, I had no idea these people took drugs! If you ask me, everybody needs to stop eating the drugs in the general.

8pm, CW
The Covenant
Since The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle aren't airing this week, it was a straight-up genius move for The CW to program THIS movie in their place. I mean, have you even seen this thing? Male prep school witches, two of whom are TIM RIGGINS and GOSSIP GIRL NATE? Not saying I saw this in theaters opening night, but okay yeah I saw this in theaters opening night. What of it, wiotch?

SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, Food Network
Fat Chef
Here's a reality series about a 500-pound pastry chef from Long Island and also an overweight soul-food aficionado from Harlem. They will attempt to each lose 25 percent of their body weight in 16 weeks. Intrigued?

Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock x2, Archer. I don't understand NBC at all here, 30 Rock twice but they can't bother to find a slot for Community? It's not like anything else they've put at 8 or 9:30 has done any better.

Covenant is a good film but i prefer Vampire diaries, secret circle. What about grey not even that... boring =(

I'm trying to understand why so many of my shows are in repeats this week. Wasn't the 6 week vacation at Xmas enough?

Parks and Recreation & Archer.

It pisses me off when networks bring back mid-season shows and then take them away after a couple of episodes. Where's Person Of Interest? No Supernatural either this week.

Love The Covenant, but I bet none of those boys can do eye-acting.

Archer and Parks and Rec.

No mention of the NHL All-Star Draft, Price? On second thought, I guess this omission is understandable. I'm a Canadian Hockey fan (Go Leafs!) and I don't even care that much.

Just Parks and Recreation for me. Thursday used to be my favorite night of television, too. Sad.

Sigh. I think I'll curl up into a ball and cry because TVD isn't on. Besides that: TBBT.

First NBC doesn't cancel The Firm (yet) to put Community back on air. Then NBC creates a spare 1/2 hour spot AND... airs TWO 30 Rocks instead of airing Community! What's next, 2 hours of Community reruns every Thursday night until June? (If you just thought, hey that doesn't sound too bad then screw you)

30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, The Office, Up All Night, Jersey Shore.. and I might have to watch Emmy Rossum on Watch What Happens Live, all her interviews I've seen have been pretty good..

The Convenant actually was pretty good, it's not a smart or well written movie by far, but there's far worst movies. plus Laura Ramsey and Jessica Lucas? yes please!
Reply

Jessica Lucas? Now I'm suddenly interested!

30 Rock and more 30 Rock! It doesn't get much better than that!

Actually it gets MUCH better than that. 30 Rock then COMMUNITY!

NBC, you've got a spare half hour so stop screwing with us!
