What to watch on Tuesday, July 24...
If you're reading this, it probably means
I've been kidnapped you made it through Monday. Congratulations! Also, I'VE BEEN KIDNAPPED! But don't worry about me. You just go ahead and check out what's on TV tonight while I try to figure out a way out of here:
SEASON 8 FINALE, 8pm, Discovery
I can't say this episode is going to be an upper, seeing as it's called, "The Bitter, Bloody End," but I can say that it's probably going to drive home the reality behind this series' title pretty damn hard. In tonight's finale, a veteran deckhand makes a critical mistake that will effect the entire crew. And all I can think to myself is, "I really hope it doesn't end in death."
Rizzoli & Isles
In "Cuts Like a Knife," Maura and Jane investigate the murder of a bride who's life was taken shortly before she even got to walk down the isle. All that wedding planning for nothing! Also in this episode: Jane has a new neighbor—and Angela, Frankie, and Frost are all taking notice. Could it be because said neighbor is suspicious? Or maybe he/she just has a really big nose?
SPECIAL, 9pm, History
The Godfather Legacy
Perhaps in an effort to capitalize on the trending topic of Mobsters on TV, History is airing a two-hour documentary about The Godfather film trilogy and the impact it had on American culture at the time of its release and years after. Interviewees range from cops to Mafia members to historians to film industry stars like Al Pacino, James Caan, and Francis Ford Coppola. Not a bad crew to hang with on a Tuesday night, if you ask me.
Matchmaking! Does it work? Sometimes! Personally, I'm skeptical that anyone would be able to pair-off two complete strangers with success, but matchmaker Lori certainly boasts a solid track record. In tonight's episode, she tries to find love for a Southern gentleman who traded in his small town roots for life in the Big Apple. And if you think that's tough, watch her try to help a 40 year-old guy who can't get over his paranoia that he'll accidentally fall for the wrong kind of woman. People really need to get out of their own heads.
SEASON 2 FINALE, 10pm, NBC
Love in the Wild
Speaking of love, this particular series centered on the subject is drawing to a close tonight. As the final couples embark on their very last quest, their relationships will be tested—but the pair that manages to overcome and win the competition will receive a romantic vacation around the world. Let's all watch and be jealous!
