What to Watch Tonight: The River finale, NCIS, and Raising Hope

What to watch on Tuesday, March 20...

If your TV is broken, it's time to gather up the kids and take a trip to the Travelodge. There's magic out there (on TV):

The River
There's been a slow, steady, nearly imperceptible increase in quality over the last seven episodes, but it definitely happened: I care about what's going to happen tonight! In "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," the surviving members of the Magus crew endure a shocking death and attempt to steer themselves out of the haunted jungle. It's unclear whether The River will be picked up for a second season, so let's just all cross our fingers we'll get as much closure as possible, ya dig?

8pm, CBS
Whoops! An information leak is traced to inside the NCIS office, so Gibbs must team up with psychiatrist Samantha Ryan (Jamie Lee Curtis) for some flirtation-laced good times. See, it's never too late, you guys.

9pm, Fox
New Girl
Whoa, this is the first of a two-parter, so you know it's gonna be important. Or, at the very least, split in half. Anyway, in "Fancyman (Pt. 1)" Jess is asked out on a date by the super rich and handsome father of one of her students. Elsewhere Schmidt and Winston nearly come to blows over bar trivia and perma-poor Nick attempts to buy a new cell phone.

8pm, Fox
Raising Hope
This show continues walking the line between poignancy and absurdity when Jimmy decides to play along after Maw Maw confuses him with her late husband. Meanwhile Virginia finds herself mentoring a troubled teen during a house-sitting job and must draw upon her own experience as a teen mom.

10pm, FX
America's favorite political candidate Boyd readies for his upcoming election in Harlan. Meanwhile Raylan struggles to keep a difficult-to-imprison Dickie Bennett in prison. Plus Quarles continues being a total troublemaker. Relax, Quarles.
