What to watch on Tuesday, January 8...
SEASON 2 PREMIERE 8pm, NBC
Betty White’s Off Their Rockers
Another year, another serving of superannuated tomfoolery. Two new episodes of it, in fact. Tonight, YouTube sensation Psy drops by to teach Betty & The Gang how to boogie... Gangnam Style! And in the second installment, they’re joined by another Internet video veteran, Kim Kardashian. Betty White, NBC, and corporate parent Comcast are hip with the “memes,” y’all!
Guest-star Christopher Lloyd and guest-car a DeLorean are at the center of “Credit Where Credit is Due.” Burt and Virginia must do whatever it takes to repair Jimmy’s abysmal credit score, which they torpedoed during his childhood.
SEASON 2 PREMIERE 9pm, ABC Family
The Lying Game
"The Revengers" kicks off The Lying Game's second season with Mads meeting a mysterious stranger, Rebecca and Sutton’s plans running afoul of Emma and Laurel, and Alec winding up in the slammer accused of murder. At press time the D.A. had not yet decided whether to press charges for TLG's swiping of an episode title from an installment of Gossip Girl that aired a month ago.
SEASON 4 PREMIERE, 10pm, FX
On the trail of a dangerous fugitive, Raylan is sidetracked by a disturbing secret involving Arlo in “Hole in the Wall.” What mysteries surround the fractured Givens clan? And can they be solved by a man with a quick draw, a slick hat, and a way with a quip? (Spoiler alert for the second question: Yes. Yes they can.)
SEASON 4 PREMIERE, 10pm, TBS
The Cul de Sac Crew and its small but devoted audience hope to carve out a cable niche as the genial sitcom moves to TBS after three years of being ignored by ABC. “Blue Sunday” picks up with Jules and Grayson beginning their life as newlyweds, while Travis and Laurie each struggle with different kinds of loneliness.
SERIES (BUT REALLY SEASON 3) PREMIERE, 10pm, Spike
Joe Schmo: The Full Bounty
One reality show contestant who thinks he’s competing to become a real-life bounty hunter. A bunch of improv-trained actors pretending to be reality show contestants. One Lorenzo Lamas. It all adds up to a giant hoax/satire of reality TV, as the decade-old Joe Schmo Show is revived for a new, even reality-TV-hungrier era. Even those of you who spit hot fire at any non-scripted program which deigns to occupy American airwaves (and we know you’re out there) may enjoy seeing whether a reality wannabe can figure out he’s being conned and mocked.
TIME PERIOD PREMIERE, 11:35pm, ABC
