What to Watch Tonight: Up All Night, Eagleheart, and Community

What to watch on Thursday, April 12...

Today might be a good day to empty your DVR of the many hundreds of hours of telenovelas you've got stored in there. The thing's at capacity, and it's not like you're learning Spanish anytime soon. Plus you might need to record some or all of the good TV that's on tonight! See here:

SEASON 1 FINALE, 9:30pm, NBC
Up All Night
One of 2011's best new shows bids us adieu tonight (silver lining: Parks & Recreation's returning soon!) with an episode that'll bring us back to the beginning sort of. When Reagan loses her engagement ring, Chris decides he'll take the opportunity to surprise her with a proper re-proposal. Meanwhile Kevin wants back with Ava and he'll turn to Julian, the world's suavest Armenian-American, for help.

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 12am, Cartoon Network
Eagleheart
It may not bring in blockbuster ratings, but for my money Eagleheart's one of the most consistently hilarious shows on television. If you haven't seen it, think Walker Texas Ranger after too many whip-its. And tonight it returns for Season 2! In "Gabey, Calvin and Stu," U.S. Marshall Chris Monsanto (Chris Elliott) must face his past in order to protect the future. (Just like always.)

10pm, ABC
Scandal
ABC's trashiest serial-procedural (at least until Revenge returns) airs its second episode tonight, "Dirty Little Secrets." It concerns the little black book of a notorious D.C. madam, and how the team must prevent its contents from being made public.

8pm, NBC
Community
Following up last week's masterful Ken Burns parody, this week's episode, "Origins of Vampire Mythology," details Britta's avoidance of an old flame—Half the gang want to help her stay away from him while the other half just want to see what he looks like. Be careful guys, the episode title certainly doesn't bode well for his personality.

9pm, NBC
The Office
Returning from a brief hiatus, tonight we'll find out just how awkwardly Andy will dump his current girlfriend so that he can be with Erin. Meanwhile Robert California urges the staff to properly welcome their new boss (?) Nellie, but the party planning committee has other ideas.

PLUS ALL NEW EPISODES OF...

I'm so tired of Nellie. I didn't mind her a couple of times, but now she just annoys me. She is actually going to make me stop watching the Office pretty soon.

Where the hell is the real Revenge? It's been gone for aaaages!

When you watch a new (and awful) comedy like Apartment 23, you realise how good and unique Community is!

I thought Apt. 23 was hilarious!

What I'm watching tonight:

It starts with a "C", and ends in "ommunity. That's right, you guessed correctly. It's everybody's favorite new show, "Conflagration Community"!

It centers around a group of misunderstood pyromaniacs, who decide to open a restaurant together, and the hilarious antics that ensue.

There are excellent shows on tonight, particularly Awake and Touch which really need all the advertising they can get, and you'd rather comment on Eagleheart? Scandal, for chrissake??? Shame on you, Pierce. But then with the trashy shows you're known to praise with lavish collections of pictures and semi literate phrases, I shouldn't be surprised...
Reply
Flag
Okay, I kind of agree with you on the lack of coverage for Awake and Touch. Awake is a very good show that especially needs some help. But "Pierce"? If you're going to insult someone, at least do them the courtesy of getting their name right.

Also, what "trashy" shows are you referring to? You better not be talking about TVD & TSC. 'Cause if you are, shit is about to get real, right quick!

And another thing, those "lavish collections of pictures and semi literate phrases" are the funniest reviews on this site.

Oh, well. Pierce, Price... I'm a little lysdexic. Sue me. Besides, we it's not like we can't edit our posts for typos.

OK, let's leave it out the "trashy" part, because we could argue about defining that for hours. But you can't deny those two shows feature teenagers, and since I'm a grownup, I'd rather stay away from teenage fantasies and embrace more adult themes as in, uh, say... Fringe, for instance.

As for the "semi literate" reference, where do you think I got that? The TV.com website used this expression when referring to Price. I just wish I could find that piece of news to show you.

At least Price partially redeemed himself commenting on Community. But I really think Tim Surette should take over this section.

You like Fringe? Cool. I don't care if you hate every other TV show in the known universe(s). If you're a Fringe watcher, you're alright in my books.

And maybe in another universe there's a better version of me who also likes teenage vampires and witches, so who knows? Glad we're cool.

I see only two comments lacking a certain word starting with 'C' and ending in 'ommunity'. I'mma just assume it was accidental, or implied...but still, improvement!

Community - Going to be hard to top last week, but I have no doubts it'll be hilarious.

The Office - I have many doubts about it's hilarity.

30 Rock - Less doubts than I have with The Office, still has it's moments.

Touch - One of the best network dramas I've seen in a long time.

I've been patient NBC, can I pretty please have Parks & Rec back next week? I'll be good, I promise.

Everyone should be Awake when Community starts which will probably have an episode that will Touch everyone's heart.
