What to watch on Tuesday, February 28...
We've all had a long day of cleaning up the streets and making a difference, so why not let TV return the favor? Let's just kick back and educate ourselves to THESE realities:
Well, it's time for America to finally get its say as American Idol's semifinalist rounds kick off with performances by the Top 24 (or I guess it's 25?). Which one will you vote for? The one with the funky style, or the one with the gospel background, or the one who screams a lot? Rock the vote, you guys!
SEASON 3 FINALE, 10pm, USA
Well, it's been a long, crowd-pleasingly handsome journey, but tonight White Collar's third season comes to an end. Neal's got a lot riding on his commutation, but when Agent Kramer makes things especially difficult Neal finds himself suddenly needing to correct a mistake from his past. (Hint: He'll probably be wearing a suit.)
SEASON 3 FINALE, 10pm, NBC
In tonight's Season 3 finale, all our favorite characters find themselves at crossroads: Julia and Joel struggle to deal with adoption-related stress; Crosby and Adam have to make a big decision about the Luncheonette; plus Sarah faces a big life decision and the whole gang gathers to celebrate a big, presumably tear-jerking event. "Tear-jerking" seems like too negative a term for this show. Tear nice-ing?
In the delightfully named "Peaches," the Magus accidentally collides with another vessel and a responding group of rescuers may not be what they claim to be. Plus ABC promises a "shocking discovery" that leads to a "tearful reunion." Don't make promises you can't keep, ABC!
Raylan has problems with The Man when he suddenly finds himself at odds with the FBI during his attempted takedown of Quarles and the Detroit mob. I think, at least metaphorically, this describes ALL our jobs, right?
ORIGINAL SPECIAL, 8pm, PBS
The Amish: American Experience
This PBS special promises to be one of the most thorough first-person accounts of the Amish experience, complete with audio interviews (videos are prohibited) of the Amish community and an exploration into what makes them tick. Topics include how they came to settle in Pennsylvania, their practice of Rumspringa, and that horrible 2006 school shooting. It's unclear if there will be an MST3K-style screening of the Harrison Ford Amish thriller Witness, but anything's possible?
