... Why in the world hasn't Fox given its reliable performers Bones and House renewals for next season? Money, duh. Fox said today that both shows are "creatively important for us," and went on to explain that the only thing holding up renewal announcements for both are contract negotiations. Have no fear, those two shows will both be back once the decimal points are in the right spot. But what about Fringe? [Assignment X]
... Football continues to rule the airwaves, and this time it's the college version of the game making its mark on the record books. Last night's ESPN broadcast of the BCS Championship game between the Auburn Tigers and the Oregon Ducks pulled in 27.3 million viewers, absolutely destroying the previous record-holder for most-watched cable broadcast (2009's ESPN Monday Night Football game between the Vikings and Packers had 21.8 million viewers). Congratulations to the Oregon Ducks, winners of the BCS Championship solely in my imagination. [Multichannel]
... Charlie Sheen is still living the Hollywood dream. He's been hanging out with porn stars (Bree Olsen, among themgo ahead and Google search her, I'll wait) in Las Vegas, and friends and family and employers say this is the last time! CBS, Warner Bros. TV, and the producers of Two and a Half Men are looking for ways to keep the money pouring in save Charlie Sheen from destroying their profits his career and his life and their money-printing hit sitcom. Sheen has refused to go to rehab, and his lifestyle has disrupted the show's filming schedule several times, including one this morning. Poor Jon Cryer. [Deadline Hollywood]
... Terra Nova, Fox's big-budget small-screen Jurassic Park, is getting a huge launch on May 23 and 24 with a two-night, advanced mega-premiere. Thank God we don't have to wait until September to figure out whether the show sucks! [Deadline Hollywood]
... Mary Murphy is returning to So You Think You Can Dance as a resident judge. My girlfriend says she's great and really makes the show, so you all must watch now. What, are you saying my girlfriend has bad taste? You sound just like her father! Oh, now I get what he was saying. [Ohio.com]
... The search for a home for The Kennedys continues, following History Channel's unexpected dumping of the high-profile project. Starz and FX have both passed on the miniseries, which stars Greg Kinnear and Katie Holmes. [THR]
... ABC has purchased a new comedy, and it just might win the title for best sitcom name, ever. Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23 (please, please keep that title!) is about a young woman who moves to New York City and rooms with a party girl. [EW]
... Johnny Galecki, The Big Bang Theory's Leonard, will be appear in the next season of Entourage, playing himself. Well, technically a fictionalized, "tougher version of himself." [E! Online]
... Japan, I am so sorry. Really, really sorry. MTV Japan has premiered Shibuhara Girls, the country's first reality series in the vein of The Hills. Next up, Kyoto Shore. [Wall Street Journal]

Bones was renewed for two seasons last year...........If I'm not mistaken....
They won't cancel either show, so don't worry. It would be network suicide.
They can't cancel House and Bones I love both those shows.
they need to put fringe on a better night again
There is NO way that House or Bones can end these seasons, because Huddy needs at least one more season so they can get married, and B&B haven't even got together yet, so another season is obviously needed.
I hope these contract negotiations are over soon, I want House to get renewed! It's one of my favorite shows! Please renew House! What will Hugh Laurie if it gets cancelled?
yay - Mary Murphy returns! Mary is the heart of SYTYCD! She actually has a lot to say about technique in the ballroom segments (most of which doesn\'t make sense to those watching because we are not ballroom dancers!). Yes, sometimes the screaming is a bit much. But it brings life to judging panel. Mia is a bee-atch - sorry but there it is. She has no consistency about who she likes and why. If you are one of her favorites, she will overlook your flaws while skewering another dancer who does the same thing. And she consistently puts down the dancers and doesn't offer anything CONSTRUCTIVE to help them grow. As to not respecting Mary's opinion - she is a CHAMPION ballroom dancer with her own studio. She KNOWS what she's talking about. Mia needs to stick to choreographing because as a judge she was awful and MEAN.moreless
Bones and Fringe renewed would be fantastic. Oh yeah, House too. I still watch it occasionally...on DVD. Bones and Fringe are like my 2nd and 3rd favorite shows (Supernatural comes in first). More of them please please please.
I thought this was supposed to be House's last season. House's quips make the show funnier than most sitcoms, but it's barely about the medical mysteries any more.
House has to get renewed, but I'd also like to see a renewal for Lie to Me.
please renew HOUSE
Fringe has to get a renewal, anything else simply makes no sense
Fringe must be renewed at all costs, it is the best show from FOX, I don't care if they cancel Bones and Hose, but Fringe has to be renewed!!!
Fringe! Why does it rate so bad, does Tivo count in the ratings?
another tacky, tacky, tacky, tacky, tacky headline....but the rest was pretty funny
Sack Charlie Sheen already! Poor Jon Cryer.
I always think of Seth Green as the mean Entourage version of him
FOX will have to decide how much these amazing scripted dramas (Bones, Fringe, House) are worth to them.
It's way too early to say that any renewals are "held up." The networks don't announce many of their renewals until at least March. Provided nothing goes wrong, Bones is sure to get renewed and I think Fringe may have a good chance provided it can hold a decent audience on Friday. House is getting on in years so if it does get renewed I think we can expect it to be it's last year.
A tough Lenny on Entourage? Could be a hoot :-)
I hope Bones, House and Fringe are all renewed.
i thought entourage was quitting
House can go. But Fringe and bones had better be around. Too much to tie up...
Not so happy about Mary Murphy bach omn SYTYCD... she's all noise... I like all the other judges better
I couldn't care less about Bones (stopped watching it ages ago...) but FOX better renew Fringe 'cause it's one of the BEST series out there!!!
Fringe won't get a decision until it finally premieres on Fridays later this month. FOX will see how it does and then decide.
FOX will bring back House and Bones. And they better no cancel Fringe because they're gonna be a lot of angry nerds.
I hate this american Football, because of it, we european who dont event watch this "sport" have to wait ages for our favorite series :(
not worried about fringe, or house, or bones, i mean if they cancel those they really are noobs
Charlie Sheen is up for 'The Biggest Douche in the Universe' award this year (see South Park)... and I think he's gonna win!! Earth hasn't had a winner since John Edwards... we should be all be very proud! Also, I agree with estella87, I would trade Bones, House and 99% of Fox's lineup for Fringe. They CAN'T cancel that show. It's way too f*@#in good.
I don't care about Bones and House. They are nice shows but I wouldn't miss them. What I would miss is Fringe... damn ratings xD
I really enjoy So You Think You Can Dance, but I have to say, seeing Mary gone for this season was an immense joy. Her personality is so grating, and she often has little say beyond "it wasn't good enough for me", or "YOU'RE ON THE HOT TAMALE TRAIN! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I vastly prefer seeing Mia Michaels and others who actually have something useful to say, and whose opinions I actually respect. Very unimpressed.
They better renew Bones and House AND Fringe!
I like bones and house, but most of all I like that show title I hope they keep it
House and Bones are formulaic TV droll. But FOX only cancels good shows so I'd expect Fringe gone instead.
