Wheel, Jeopardy! set through 2012

Top-ranked syndicated game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! have been renewed for two more years each through the 2011-12 season.

Among the stations extending their deals with syndicator CBS Television Distribution are ABC-owned WABC New York, KABC Los Angeles, and WLS Chicago.

Wheel, the No. 1 show in syndication, averaged an 8.3 household rating through December 17, while Jeopardy! was No. 3 with a 6.5 average. Wheel is in its 24th season, Jeopardy! in its 23rd.

In other syndication news, Sony Pictures Television said its court show Judge David Young has been cleared in stations covering 75 percent of the United States for its fall 2007 launch.

Young, a circuit court judge in Miami-Dade County who gave jail time to two drunken America West pilots, will continue in his current position until stepping down to host the show.

The problem with brining back Match Game is that the original host is now dead. Game shows dont usually have good spinoffs if the original host isnt on it. I think Game Show Network tried a modern version of it and it flopped, much like the newer version of Press Your Luck and the Pyramid.
