William Shatner Turns Sarah Palin Into Poetry

Sarah Palin may not have intended her farewell-to-Alaska speech to wax poetic, but her semi-evocative imagery certainly made it seem like that was her goal. Was it her improvisational rambling? Or was she just trying to soothe her passionate followers with a little off-the-cuff riffing?

Perhaps Palin just needed a little help with delivery from Emmy-winning all-around performer Sir William Shatner. Monday night on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, Shatner channeled Palin to give her speech the treatment it deserved.

This clip from The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien contains excerpts from the ex-governor's speech, as well as Shatner's spoken-word rendition. Enjoy!

You have to love Shatner. The man has overcome the Captain Kirk thing and reinvented himself three or four times. Lesser men would have given up after that character!

I liked Shatner's rendition, but am glad he didn't sing it!
BTW, does anyone else think that Palin is really Quayle in drag? ;)
