Caged Heat fans, get ready to riot... in a good way!
Fox is taking a page out of ABC's book by developing a spin-off of one its popular shows and making a woman its central character. However, it won't feature a doctor jaunting down to Southern California for romance and good times, like Grey's Anatomy spin-off Private Practice. No, no...quite the opposite.
The network has ordered a script for a drama splintering off of Prison Break, but instead of hunky shaved-headed men, this one is all about the ladies.
The show, tentatively (and somewhat provocatively) titled Prison Break: Cherry Hill, will focus on Molly, a female character that will be introduced on Prison Break later this season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Her character is described as "an upper-middle-class wife" who seeks revenge against the Company at the Panamanian prison where the current season of Prison Break is set.
Cherry Hill would take place after Molly's appearance on Prison Break and see her behind bars at an all-female slammer content to serve her sentence for actions taken against the Company. Well, content until she finds out loved ones she thought were killed by the Company are actually alive.
"In a moment's time, she is transformed from an unapologetic murderer to a motivated woman who would do anything to get out of prison and be with them," Prison Break executive producer Matt Olmstead told The Hollywood Reporter.
Producers are currently looking for an actress to play Molly, which, given today's news of her own possible show, is likely to be a hot casting call. Even if the spin-off doesn't come to fruition, Molly is expected to be a regular character on Prison Break.

I don't think I like watching women in jail. I think instead of looking sexy, they will look dirty, tomboyish, and tough which isn't my type at all...hmmmm...
well my opinion is that they are advantages and disadvantages on makin a women one. i think it would b a re-make so ppl would b put of, ppl will b wondering wat it will b about plot etc, gd cos its gd 2 c a female character in 2days action drama, i would love to b molly hehe

This show has already been done in Australia it was a 70s tv show called 'Prisoner' youtube it some time, worth a laugh.

Spin offs do not always do well, it's true... even sequels to movies do not always do good.
When they did Private Practice off of Gray's everyone hated the preview episode (i did) but now i watch Private Practice BECAUSE I GAVE IT A CHANCE and i like it!
If the network wants to have the writters work on a script and they get it approved and they shoot it... are you gonna give it a chance. Some of you wont... but i bet not everyone but a lot of people will LIKE IT!

Don`t know what to make of this...as far as it does not affect the original series..I`m ok. I will certainly give it a try but it will never attain the level of awesomeness of the original series but could still be good.I agree with anabelle03 too...the idea of Men prisoners attracts more than the idea of Women prisoner...for some reasons....and I`m guy..I want to see girls in heat etc....but not in prison.

Yeah I think your completely right piekid! They've been dragging the story for way too long now! And it's already difficult to make a succesful spin off, imagine making a succesful spin off from a bad rated show! and people will expect a good storyline because PB's first season was so well written! don't think they will make it.

Bad idea! Prison Break didn't even get through it's second season before it started to suck, what on earth makes them think they can get a successful spin off!?!
If it is worked right, I think this can be really good
well...we`ll have to see what this Molly is all about first...what type of character and actress...if they think of making a spin off on her, she must be very interesting!

At the moment I think it's a bad idea, but if they are able to get the right actresses and a good script then mabey it'll be good, I don't know.
I think the idea of a spin off in a female prison is a horrible idea. Please don't do it. Don't ruin the essence of Prison Break with that crap. I LOVE this show, but to be honest I can't see where else it can go, unless i'm not being creative enough. If the writers and creators are smart, they'll concentrate on making the writing count for season 3 so that we get great episodes instead of worrying about a show that probably won't work anyway.
will give it a try...Not sure what to think of it right now. But Prison break is awesome...all 3 seasons...so just because of what the writers has proved,I`ll give it a try but the concept does not really attract me (or may the hot chick in heat prison stuff does attract me LOL)
PB is an amazing show. the first two seasons have been great. Season 3 is still missing the twist that would dilute the monotony or repetition. Thank God they are about to try and break out. More than that would have been too much. I would hate for PB to fall in the same mistakes as lost. Regarding the new chick show. If it will be a cheesy spin-off with nothing new and not have it's own identity, i sy ditch it.

Give it a go and see what happens, it might be as big a Prison Break or it could bomb and last half a season only to be shelved like other shows Fox has shown.
