Wonder Woman Is Returning to TV

... The very foxy Wonder Woman is returning to television, and the man behind the reboot isn't who you might expect. Warner Bros. TV has announced that a series featuring the superheroine is in development and has tapped David E. Kelley to produce it. Kelley of course is the mind behind a gaggle of legal dramas, including Ally McBeal and Boston Legal. Maybe she'll capture bad guys AND prosecute them? [The Live Feed]

... Speaking of Ally McBeal, actor Peter MacNicol will join Grey's Anatomy for a short arc as a pediatrician. Expect him to be around for a few episodes, but don't expect him to make out with anyone. [TV Guide]

... E! has ordered a reality show pilot that will follow Lara Flynn Boyle around as she acts like Lara Flynn Boyle. [Deadline Hollywood]

... With Olivia Wilde gone from House for the foreseeable future, a cute new female doctor needs to check in. Enter Amber Tamblyn (Joan of Arcadia). Tamblyn will play a medical student who is brought on staff by Cuddy as a way to balance out all the testosterone on the team. [TV Guide]

... The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco missed a few episodes of the show due to a horse-riding accident that left her with a broken leg, but she's been cleared to return to work on October 13 and will only miss two episodes as a result. So feel free to add her into your weekly fantasy television lineup that week, as she'll make a great flex option against a depleted Community defense. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Smallville producers have cast the role of Deathstroke, and by golly, did they do a bang-up job! Actor Michael Hogan, who played Colonel Tigh in Battlestar Galactica, will appear in the ninth episode of this final Smallville season as Slade before he become the comic-book bad guy. [IGN]

... ABC Family has canceled... Huge. Pretty Little Liars, featuring wafer-thin hot chicks, was renewed. Huge, about teens at a weight-loss camp, was canceled. TV: where real-life need not apply. [Deadline Hollywood]

TV that resembled reality - I knew it wouldn't last.

  • RASSTACLOTT

I think Tera Patrick Would be best for the role as Wonder Woman

  • Antrah

Aisha Tyler would make an awesome Wonder Woman

  • KevinG87

yeah Amber Tamblyn isn't news, but i like her and House so cool. good for Kaley, i like her, but i wouldn't care if she never came back to the show because i can't stand it. Huge was actually a good show. better than the rest of the utter crap (with the exception of Melissa & Joey) that ABC Family has on air.

  • Starprincess13

Amber Tamblyn on House isn't news. I'm glad to hear Kaley will only miss two episodes.

  • angeland8

Too bad Kaley Cuoco will be out for several episodes. The best parts of the show are the ones that include her interaction with Sheldon.

  • Yaspaa

I'll be interested in finding out who they cast for WW.

  • adamonfire

Big Bang is the minor leagues compared to Community's Miguel Cabrerra.

So sad about Huge, it was way better than Pretty Little Liars. And it had a horrible ending for those invested in the relationships. Not a bad season ending, but a really horrible series ending. Can't believe we'll never get to Will and Ian together. Sigh.

  • kaynwil

*gasp* I actually enjoyed Huge! Sad to see it go:-( I should have known better. Thin will always be in.

  • AnoukvdZee

I know Pretty Little Liars is about nothing. But somehow I keep watching that show, I can't explain why, so I guess I'm good with the renewal.

  • ChristopherAb2

don't think death-stroke has ANYTHING to do with superman...but yeah they did a good job casting him

  • torque_smacky

Good that Tamblyn is still finding work. She was great as Casey Shraeger. And if you don't recognize that name, you have bad taste (along with the 99% of Americans who didn't watch).

  • hockeyrick

Pretty liars is a waste. What is the big lie? Did they kill A? no they didn't.BUT, Spencer is one of the hottest girls on tv, next to Maqqie Q and Grace Park!

  • MandaCookie

@hot_babe101 Huge was cancelled. Pretty Little Liars was renewed. You're okay =)

  • hot_babe101

are you serious? they're cancelling Pretty Little Liars?i friggin love that show :( The books are sensational and the tv show the same!

  • ColdNova75

I have adored the character "Wonder Woman" since childhood (especially the Linda Carter T.V show, and the amazing George Perez comic ) , but I simply can't imagine this new show being valid with said people involved (I hope I'm wrong...)They could do something really exciting and interesting with this , but I have a horrible feeling this might end up being an estrogen fueled action "chick flick" disaster in the style of "Smallville"... Glossy , unintelligent , and lame .I just hope to f**k I'm wrong.

  • provencrt

Wonder Woman, This is going to be awesome, and just as Smallville will end, so, sweeeeeeeeet.

  • Dragonsi2

I think Betty White should play Wonder Woman's grandmother, back on the island they live on, before Princess Diana left the island they lived on. Betty would be the World War II Wonder Woman!

  • Roneteus

Nadia Bjorlin should play Wonder Woman!

  • Allred1972

I am looking forward to this remake. There have to be plenty of young (and Fit
) women out there that can do Wonder Woman justice. And maybe a cameo by Linda Carter would be a nice homage to the orginal show. :-p

  • maritimer00

I can't see Wonder Woman on television for the same reason the movie projects have never got going....who's going to get cast for the title role that looks the part? Harder than you may think...

  • dragon22a

I guess with Smallville on its way out, they are hoping to replace it with Wonder Woman. But if they are, they should have her appear on Smallville first and spin her off, keeping her in the smae continuity so other characters can appear. I think that they should spin off the Justice Society with Michael Shanks leading the cast as Hawkman.

"Do you promise to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so long as I keep this golden lasso wrapped around you"

    "Uh, yes?"

  • mrfurious00

let's hope Calista Flockheart isn't cast as Wonder Woman!

  • tecumseh11

nobody wants to see fat girls...everyone wants to see skinny girls

  • sweetsaintz

David E Kelley to produce Wonder Woman?!? Seems like an odd combination. I love Peter MacNicol but hate that he's going to be on Grey's because he's a million times better than that show! And Amber Tamblyn on House - i just hope she doesn't get eaten alive by the rest of the brilliant cast.

  • sandbur

Wonder Woman??!! Can it get any worse?
