You Can Watch the Premiere of USA's Hacker Drama Mr. Robot Right Now (VIDEO)

Sitting in at Number 3 on our list of Most Anticipated New Summer Shows was USA's Mr. Robot, a hacker drama from a producer of True Detective. We thought we'd have to wait until June 24 to see the first episode, but no! USA put the whole hour-long pilot online today for anyone with an Internet connection (and possibly within a particular region) can watch it today.

The series, which won the audience award at SXSW this year, stars Rami Malek (The Pacific) as a nervous programmer whose skills for breaking firewalls and cyber security lands him with a hacking collective looking to screw with the richest of the rich who control the world. Christian Slater also stars as the head of the cyber-vigilantes. Watch it!

Mr. Robot makes its television debut on June 24 on USA Network.

I can't believe how much i liked this pilot. I had very little expectations and the first minutes i didn't feel comfortable with the lead character's awkwardness (and those big eyes). But once everything started coming toghether i was instantly hooked. Those inner monologues and delusions give the show a certain "fight club" vibe, updated to our current times, with social media being such a big part of our lives and the recent slow-awareness of anti-corporate arguments. It was a really strong pilot, let's hope they can keep the quality for the whole series.
The cinematography is similar to an indie film most of the time, but that gives it a certain feel of "quality tv" being the right choice to portray the world through Elliot's eyes (is it a coincidencende taht his initial is an E, just as Evil Corp?)
I'm a little worried about Christian Slater's record of cancelations, and his character is a little too over the top IMO. But he certainly made me know more about him and his group of hackers.
Also intriguing was the possible nemesis (the deputy tech VP or something like that), he seems to be just as good and capable as Elliot but working for E Corp.
Here's hoping the show gets good ratings so we can explore this very interesting world.

Such a strong pilot! And now I am hating that I have to wait a month to see the 2nd episode! It definitely has that high-tech Fight Club feel to it, so who knows what's real and what isn't. Even the news stories at the end, which referred to the company as Evil Corp, instead of E Corp.

Not just that, but Gideon referred to them as "Evil Corp" twice on the plane, when I'd thought that was something Elliot usually just said in his own head. For Gideon, the boss, to talk about them that way seemed odd.

No, Gideon didn't say "Evil Corp," nor do the billboards say it...it's what Elliot hears and sees.

As someone else mentioned that may be an NLP thing. It's also a(nother) clue that we're not seeing things objectively -- that everything that's happened so far in the show is from Elliot's perspective. We're in Elliot's head, and as I've posted elsewhere here, he's far from a reliable narrator.

Supergirl is light and fun -- so I don't begrudge people that pleasure. I'm not one of them, but lots of ppl like to relax after work with someone that doesn't make them work too hard. I just hope ppl like us will present enough of an audience for the show to succeed.

yes, there are those people, but tose people arent the ones making posts and having posters on facebook pages about those shows, those people u say are working people tired and they watch wtv appears, no matter if is supergirls or vampires diaries or supernaturals etc etc Im talking about the brain damaged people that could also work, but less work and have too much wasting time to write amazing reviews about shows with no substance. Some reviews are better than the Shows xD

I cant help but notice the similarities
Fight club = F society
Brad Pitt/ Edward norton = Elliot and Mr. Robot
Brad pitt (Tyler Durden) was imagination of Edward Norton
Mr. Robot Could be an imagination of Elliot.
Brad Pitt Wanted to Destroy buildings that keep records of credit card companies to remove all debts.
Mr. Robot wants to destroy E corp which will erase 70 % of all the debts.

Well spotted, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that this is derivative (unless and until it does turn out that Mr. Robot is a figment). I found it very watchable. Were the similarities too glaring for you to enjoy it?

Ok, Mr. Robot/Christian Slater is definetily imagination of Elliot. First time, when we see him on train and he yells "hey kid,..." no one on subway reacts, but Elliot.

When he goes for the "first" time to that Coney island Society Hack Club with Mr. Robot and Mr. Robot knocks, dude who opens door,ONLY looks at Elliot. Then when they are inside, again those people only look at Elliot. No one reacts to Mr. Robot or even looks in Mr. Robot's direction.

Next time Elliot visits that place and girl is smoking,he asks her "where's your boss" and she says "ok,cut the bs,when are you gonna give us access to root directory".

Only time Mr. Robot interacts with people and they react to him,is with those 2 "man in black" dudes, when Elliot was spying on his shrink and her boyfriend at Loti's. But that could just be Elliot imaging all 3 or put a face on homeless person asking for money.

Excellent pilot. Very very strong showing. Great plot, concept, intensity and acting chops. Rami, who plays the main hacker protagonist is brilliant. CSlater just needs to pick up the pace to keep the adrenaline of the show pumping. Hope this runs many season if it can keep every episode fresh. Congrats to a winner- this is IT !

It is a good psychological thriller. You have to wonder if this is real or just in his head. Elliot doesn't seem quite sure himself. This is good for audiences who like to think, but might not have enough action to keep others awake.

Are you serious? Here the actors actually appear committed to their roles. On Cyber they only seem to phone in their admittedly utterly unconvincing lines. So, in what way is that show superior?

I don't think there is ANY comparison with Cyber. I'm not going to slag that show off because for the kind of show that it is, it's probably doing its thing. Cyber is part of a franchise -- everything about it is (reassuringly?) predictable, doesn't push the actors' range much -- it's easy, accessible watching. Mr. Robot, so far is offering up something more edgy and unique.

I was surprised how great this was, an intelligent hacker show with tech jargon I can get behind and I like the lead actor, saw him in the pacific and he was excellent. It's on USA so it might not get cancelled straight away (I'm looking at you FOX and SYFY) I love both Suits and Burn Notice which are getting/had decent runs so I have a bit more faith. I'm so In! now we just have to wait another month for the next ep.

Intelligent hacker show? Seriously? Its only a minor bit less ridiculous than CSI: Cyber, with hackers needing to be flown on private jets and a security sales rep that has never heard of a "root kit" (there is a need for exposition for the audience, and sales reps can be clueless, but not thats a bit much). I've been around top computer software types for years, their portrayal of one is that of a clueless writer's fantasies with perhaps enough bits of reality that outsiders don't spot how silly it is (even accounting for the difficulty of a non-brilliant writer needing to write the part of a brilliant hacker). The rich&powerful are supposed to be in control of things.. yet a trivial attempt at frameup isn't something a CTO with lots of money can get out of? Writers who wish to paint the rich&powerful as evil folks need to make up their mind if they are super-competent folks capable of secret conspiracies and controlling the world.. or complete idiots capable of being sidelined by one tiny bit of evidence.

The writers are also obviously trying to make a hero out of an economically illiterate buffoon that doesn't grasp that their desire to get rid of debt will trash the jobs of the poor&middle class and hurt them far more than the wealthy will be hurt. He is a nihilistic anarchist sort that seems to want destruction for destruction's sake due to jealousy or hatred of whatever of the world, which granted may draw in followers, but that is different from their obvious intent to make us sympathetic to these folks. It is possible to come up with intelligent conspiracy theories where suspension of disbelief allows you to accept some of their misguided assumptions, but there is a difference between that and a show written by writers utterly clueless about how the real world works.

You pegged the need for exposition, especially from a show with a general audience. The show you want would have a limited target audience of IT folks. Since this one is aimed at the general audience they aren't going to hit the notes you are looking for. That said, Elliot's friend, the account manager is very new to her job, only a few months and having done that job know that you mostly aren't being paid to talk in technical detail with anyone. You are simply the go-between between the tech team and client, who often doesn't know much about the technology, so even if you do get it, you still usually need to translate. The show took pains to make clear that the CTO isn't a techie, just a fairly clueless suit. We're also meant to believe that things other than his info in the .dat file pointed to his guilt (like the hack coinciding with his salary renegotiation). The person who is more likely to be suspicious though now that he's in the fallen CTO's chair may not care is the VP who says "Bon soir" all of the time.

Elliot's a completely unreliable narrator. Once his psychiatrist started talking about delusions that was a major indicator. Plus, the intimation that he's not taking his meds -- and hey, he's taking street drugs instead. Chuckled when he said he tested the morphine for purity -- did anyone else doubt that Shaila delivers 100% pure morphine? Who does? Then of course there were the black suited men he sees everywhere. Not to mention the Christian Slater character who as someone else mentioned above only Elliot sees and reacts to. Nope, for all we know by the end of the series he'll be revealed to be sitting in a padded cell or locked in a coma or something. BUT, I don't really care whether it's real. It's all just so riveting.

Based on the premiere, this show looks awesome. I enjoyed Rami Malek in The Pacific, and this role seems like a perfect fit for him. Overall, I'm really interested in seeing where this thing goes.

Also, and this made me laugh: Was that Carly Chaikin (Dalia Royce, from Suburgatory) claiming to have written the rootkit? lol Love her, and it's hilarious to see the vastly different character I'm assuming she'll be playing.

The pilot was much better than I thought it was going to be. I was already interested in the show because of the premise, but the show was very different from what I was expecting. To be honest it almost felt like more of half a movie then a pilot. I can't wait to see the rest of the episodes, I just hope they are as good.

This show looks amazing, I really enjoyed the pilot. Finally a dark, tense and interestig tv show to watch. I was skeptical at the behinning, after the csy cyber fiasco and the other terrible shows with hackers involved but this one looks like a rare gem.
From hte characters, the photography, the setting, the general atmosphere, I just love it.

I watched the pilot on Twitch.tv and the interview after was really intertesting, especially to see how the creator of the show seems to care about this show.

I hope they deliver a great first season, I need more good show to watch. :)

this show is fucking awesome.. PERIOD.

when you hear that saying 'the 2nd golden age of TV'..that TV quality is better than the movies today.. this show is in that conversation now! (and its only a freaking pilot!!!).

along with Hannibal, the Amerikkans, leftovers, ... this show does not dumb down for audiences.

the highest compliment that i can give it, is that i watched it TWICE! .. & obviously winning the coveted audience prize at SXSW in March was valid compliment enough.

if this season lives up to expectation.. "Modern Masterpiece" is the likely tag it will surely have to embrace.

Bloody amazing, that's what it is! Almost every detail of this show hit the spot, even casting of the agents in the end.
Voice over is perfect and it takes you trough the show by the hand but not entirely baby sitting you, just enough to tip you of the balance or push in the right direction.

It's like they took best elements out of Rubicon (god I loved that show) and just dial up on the action, oh the action! Intensity! No need for crashing car and burning plains in the sky, you could've cut the tension with a knife.

Yep, I am loving it
