Your Everything Guide to August Premieres

Welcome to the homestretch—fall premieres begin in just over a month. Until then, here's what's coming up in August.

Sunday, August 1

Shark Week begins, 9 a.m., DSC
The most shark-tastic week of the year begins now. Cue the Jaws music.

Rubicon Series premiere, 8 p.m., AMC
On AMC's new drama, James Badge Dale is intelligence analyst Will Travers. Like the other leading men on AMC, he's got a high-stakes job and an intriguing backstory—he suspects he's discovered a government conspiracy—but will he be as badass as Walter White or Don Draper?

Tuesday, August 3

Shaq Vs Season 2 premiere, 9 p.m., ABC
Shaq isn't just going against sports greats this season—he's also got his sights set on beating Justin Bieber, Rachael Ray, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and other celebs at what they do best.

18 to Life, Series premiere, 9 p.m., CW

These people need to stop having kids. Seriously.

The Rachel Zoe Project, Season 3 premiere, 10 p.m., BRAVO
Rachel's longtime associate, Taylor Jacobsen, departs this season. But a new girl joins the crew, so it's all good.

One Big Happy Family, Mid-season 2 premiere, 10 p.m., TLC
The Coles are still livin' large! Yeah, I said it.

Wednesday, August 4

Dark Blue Season 2 premiere, 9 p.m., TNT
Raise your hand if you think Dylan McDermott is dreamy and you really don't care what cop show he's on, as long as he's on one!

Criss Angel Mindfreak, Season 6 premiere, 10 p.m., A&E;
Will someone please tell this crazy man that he's spelling his name incorrectly?

Thursday, August 5

Sunday, August 8

Wild Child Premiere, 8 p.m., ABC Family
This new TV movie is about Malibu brat Poppy (Emma Roberts), who gets sent to boarding school in England and learns to adjust to her new life. I feel like the Disney Channel has already told this story like 298374 times, but whatever. At least we get to see the late and great Natasha Richardson play Poppy's headmistress!

Monday, August 9

Bachelor Pad Series premiere, 8 p.m., ABC
Twenty former Bachelors and Bachelorettes will live together in a house and compete in challenges to avoid getting evicted. The winner will take home a cash prize—but everyone will have the chance to find love. Chris Harrison hosts.

Dating in the Dark Season 2 premiere, 10 p.m., ABC
Rossi Moreale hosts a new season of this disturbingly indulgent reality show, which gives a different meaning to "judging a book by its cover."

Tuesday, August 10

Believe it or not, Jeff Lewis is still flippin' houses. And, uh, flipping out.

Believe it or not, Bear Grylls is still roaming around in the great outdoors with a camera crew.

LA Ink Season 4 premiere, 10 p.m., TLC
This season, Dita Von Teese will play Kat Von D the entire time and no one will be able to tell the difference between them. (Kidding! But that's not to say it couldn't happen.)

Monday, August 16

Weeds Season 6 premiere, 10 p.m., SHO
The Botwins—and by Botwins, I mean Newmans—are on the run this season. After all, Shane (Alexander Gould) did kind of kill someone in the Season 5 finale.

The Big C Series premiere, 10:30 p.m., SHO
Laura Linney stars as suburbanite Cathy Jamison, a mom who's got the right attitude about her recent cancer diagnosis.

TGIF generation, rejoice! Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence star on this new cheesy-sounding sitcom.

Big Lake Series premiere, 10 p.m., COMEDY
Chris Gethard + Horatio Sanz + Chris Parnell = a potentially very funny new show about friends trying to save their hometown, Big Lake.
