The return of comedy reality competition Last Comic Standing helped NBC to a nightly win in adults 18-49 on Tuesday, May 30. The fact that almost everything else on the air was a repeat also helped the peacock.
LCS returned with its two-hour fourth season premiere at 8 p.m., fetching a 3.9 rating in its first hour and rising to a 4.2 at 9 p.m. This season, former Yes, Dear jokester Anthony Clark takes over the hosting reins from SNL alumnus Jay Mohr, who hosted the first three incarnations.
At 8 p.m., CBS scored second and 2.5 with a rerun of NCIS, ABC was third with According to Jim at 1.8 and an original episode of Rodney at 1.9, and Fox landed fourth with the movie Shanghai Knights and a 1.7.
In the 9 p.m. hour, CBS took second with a rerun of The Unit at 2.3, followed by Fox and Shanghai at 2.0, and ABC with Jim at 2.0 and Less Than Perfect at 1.8.
Overall, CBS won the night with a 6.7, followed by NBC with 5.5, ABC with 3.5, Fox with 3.2, Univision with 1.8, and the WB and UPN each getting 1.3.
