The 35-year-old Footballers' Wives star hopes the BBC celebrity dancing show will boost her acting career, The Sun claims.
A source said: "Zoe's really keen to sign up for Strictly."
The insider added: "Over the years she's seen how being on the show has raised profiles of the celebrities who've taken part, such as Alesha Dixon and Rachel Stevens.
"She feels that she's still only really known for her part in Footballers' Wives, which ended more than three years ago.
"Zoe's looking for new challenges and thinks this could be her big break."
The mother-of-one played superb***h Tanya Turner in the hit ITV1 drama.
She also appeared in Bad Girls, and played PC Kate Keenan in Holby Blue before the BBC One drama was axed last year.
Also rumoured to be taking to the dance floor in Strictly later this year are Kara Tointon, 26, who plays Dawn Swann on EastEnders, and Natalie Cassidy, 26, who played Sonia Fowler in the BBC One soap.
Reece Dinsdale, 50, who plays Coronation Street's Joe McIntyre, is also said to be in talks to the show which starts next month.
