Before landing the role of "Father Antonio" on the NBC soap opera Sunset Beach, Nick says that he watched the show because his friend, actor Nick Stablie, was a member of the cast. He admits that, while in high school, he was a fan of General Hospital. (edit) Nick has appeared in television commercials for "Pizza Hut" and "Chevy". (edit) Nick admits that at the beginning of his career, if he had realized how hard "the business" was, he might not have had the courage to keep going. (edit) Nick says his greatest fear is having no fear at all. (edit) At the start of his career, Nick took several odd jobs in order to pay the bills. He worked as a perfume sprayer at a department store, a personal trainer at a gym, and a parking lot attendant at a restaurant. (edit)

Nick: (on acting) It's freeing, like being a kid again! (edit) Nick: (about working on the movie "Tin Cup") Kevin Costner was very cool, and took me under his wing. I was green as far as working in film goes. I had just done some short films. The one scene I was in took us all week to shoot. I was one of the guys sitting at a bar, discussing the odds on a bet that Kevin Costner and Don Johnson were about to make. It was a really small part, just a few lines. In the final edit, all my lines were cut except for one. But it wasn't about the money I made or how much screen time I got; it was the experience. It was my first big-deal movie. The director, Ron Shelton, was great to me. It was all really exciting. (edit) Nick: (on working on soaps) I don't know if soaps are necessarily harder or easier, really. They're harder in that their time restraints make it difficult, and the material is more difficult, a certain amount of reality... so it's challenging, especially if you're not used to working in those restraints. (edit) Nick: (on his Beverly Hills 90210 character, Prince Carl) I had come up with this whole upper-class character and when I went to my first audition, I did an English accent. They were like, 'No, no!' They just wanted a regular guy. (edit) Nick: (on his "Sunset Beach" role) At times it can be difficult. I've done a certain amount of research to better portray a priest, but actually in some ways it gives you some freedom to play someone with "status." (edit)
