The Commander goes to the doctor and finds out his back pain may be something much worse. Owen and Alison date other people and Nick approaches the mystery guy that Aubrey has been "seeing". hide show

I love the scenes between the Commander and the Dean, they are so sweet together. I am glad he went to the doctor and has some tests run, but I was ecstatic that he took her out dancing, so sweet! I felt so bad for Owen on his dates, he had no idea what he was doing. Phil's choice for him was great, he had no idea what to do on that date. Then he ran into Alison on that last date and you can tell he doesn't want to be dating anyone, he wants to be back with her. We met Aubrey's dad, who turns out to be the mystery man she had been meeting and talking to. My favorite line this episode was from Nick when he first met Aubrey's dad, but didn't know it was her dad "Aww man, you're old and crap!". Lol, I loved it. Nick was trying to do the right thing by getting Aubrey to give her dad a chance, but he made a big mistake, because he is just going to cut and run again. I just love this show, full of some great moments.

Who will Nick choose?: Well with the early drama between him and Aubrey, which was later on resolved and his sudden relationship strain with new-found love, Sam, who knows who he will choose? I'm just joking around. Who knew 8-year-old kids could get so dramatic over friendship. I mean, sure you might want to question Nick's friendship if he hasn't been around, but whoever wrote the script needs to be informed that Sam isn't even a teenager yet, though I'd expect something more dramatic from a teenager -- I'm looking at you Josh Schwartz!

Owen is one of the most annoying characters this season: Can anyone say otherwise? His constant drama over the fact that Ikey slept with Allison is getting annoying. I mean the first few episode I guess it was OK, but when you say that you're over it, just get over it. And then you go on three dates and you are unable to get anyone of them to like you and poor number three doesn't only get a bad date, but a black eye! Don't get me started on the chicken wings, that was crossing the line and how cheesy was it when that girl just saved him!

Hannah can't seem to make a decision: She isn't annoying like Owen or anything, but it is taking her a while to reconsider everything, and despite all this drama, she finds time to scold Eddie Lateka for being a hypocrite. At least she made a decision in the end, which didn't do anything for me, but at least one of my favorite characters on the show can move on.

Commander finds out about a medical condition. Ray tells Ikey that he wants to adopt Sam. Owen goes out with 3 women. Alison and Owen date other people. hide show

Nick finds out that the apartment Aubrey went into is her estranged father. Her father, Gabriel Diaz wants to make peace with her. He was a liar, cheater, and a womanizer. Hannah invites Ikey over for dinner. Who he neglected before it's too late. Alison tells Owen that she was asked out on a date and asks if he's been dating. Owen tries to tell her that he isn't dating anyone but then goes ahead and says he does. Sam is upset that ever since Nick saw Hannah, his mom, in a wedding dress, he ignored him and was never around. Eddie, Phil, and Pizza Girl place a bet on who Owen will like more on his date. Bethany doesn't wanna see Owen anymore and doesn't want his number. I felt so sad The lady who doesn't like movies or Shrek has not emotion at all! I really liked Vanessa, the one Eddie suggested. They have so much in common. Alison, Owen's wife, is in yoga. They bumped into each other at an ice-cream shop and Alison's on a date. Owen tried to punch her date but accidently punched Vanessa and gave her a black eye! Nick's dad has a medical back condition. His doctor found gray patches on his x-rays. And it's a very serious matter. Hannah comes to Best Friend Windows and asks Eddie to forgive Ikey. But he tells her that she can't come in and tell him that since she's keeping the biggest lie there is. And she admits it and says that she'll be accountable for it. Nick asks Sam to come to the ice-cream shop to talkto him. Owen orders a lot of chicken wings to make up for his horrible day. Then he chokes and a girlperfoms theHeimlich Maneuver. They both smile afterwards.Hannah agrees to let Ray adopt Sam.

    Review hide show

October Road once again throws up a dead episode for me. Nothing much happened in this episode that I was expecting from the ending that we had in the last episode. Aubreys father comes back into town, but it seems like his exit will be as quick and random as his entrance as it looks like he is involved in something big. Owen once again has marraige problems after going 0 for 3 on dates in response to his wife going on dates. I was so happy when it looked like the waitress at the end of the episode seemed to take an interest in him. I just want this all to go away. We learn that Hannah and (for some reason I cannot remember his name right now) had a thing the summer that Nick went missing and now we just have no idea who the father of Hannahs kid is. Or maybe it really is Gavin and the secret was simply that the two had slept together. Either way - poorly paced episode which could have been written so much better.
