Hannah shares her feelings with Nick and decides to take her life in a new direction. Eddie is having problems showing his feelings for Janet in public. Nick learns that another professor has taken over his class. Physical Phil is on the verge of losing the only connection to the world outside of his house.

This episode focused mainly on Janet and Eddie. I think the two of them are cute together. I am glad Eddie is trying to let go of his past and let everyone know how he feels for Janet. I didn't like how Rooster tried to ruin this for Janet by making her think that she isn't good enough for Eddie. Because it sort of works, she begins to think she isn't good enough for Eddie which definitely isn't true. My favorite line in this episode is "You are nothing like the girls I have dated, you are beautiful inside and out and you are absolutely nothing like taxes". Okay so that may not be exact, but it is pretty good. I also love when Nick, Owen, and Ronnie get drunk and break into the college. Ronnie just cracks me up! I think it is great when Owen tells Nick to play long ball with Hannah, and give her some time. I felt so bad when Nick saw the engagement ring on Hannah's finger at the bar, the look on Hannah's face said that she was sorry too. All in all this was a great episode, especially for Jeddie!
This season is shaping up to be pretty consistant as far as the writing goes and you can see this year, more then last, that the writers are taking more chances in the writing this year. Nick has hit rock bottom, although at the start of the season when he got back from New York he was at the top of his mountain. Some people don't like the fact that Nick is on this steep decline emotionally, but I know the writers won't keep him that way forever. I like the chances they are taking with regards to Nick / Hannah, I think that them getting together shouldnt even be considered until the final couple of episodes of the show, whenever that may be. I think Hannah and Big Cat are going to last for a while this season and I wonder where Nick is going to go from here now that he has been fired from his job as a teacher. Doesnt seem like much for him to stay in Knights Ridge for, but who knows where the writing is to go from here.

The dramatic ending when Eddie surprises Janet by kissing her in front of all their friends is what makes this show a step above most other TV shows. It is refreshing to see a character like Eddie develop in such a mature way. Last season we observed Eddie's inability to maintain a healthy relationship with women. He seemed to be stuck in the high school mode of conquering beautiful girls and then moving on before any real feelings could develop. Finally he recognizes a woman (Janet) worthy of risking a 'real' relationship. The love story between Nick and Hannah reminds me of the love story between Derrick and Meredith on Grey's Anatomy. The writers will have fun tempting the audience throughout the entire season- will they get together or not? It make me wonder why Hannah is afraid of 'true love' which she obviously has for Nick (the sick feeling in her stomach) and why she prefers a slime ball like Big Cat. She appears to be utterly confused and in denial about what's real and what's not. Is her blond hair a coincidence or is she another 'dumb blond' stereotype. Of course, Nick's competing girlfriend, Aubrey, has brown hair and appears rather intelligent as well as beautiful. The only part of this episode I didn't like was the college break-in. Even with a large alcohol intake, I don't think Nick would do anything that stupid! When Phil pulled the plug on his TV named Jason, it was encouraging that he's making progress and may be out the door in the fresh air in a coming episode. His pizza delivery girlfriend is charming just like their relationship. Despite his fits of uncontrolled rage, Owen is a great guy. He is very sincere about loving his kids. The scene with his kids was very touching. It will be interesting to see how his wife tries to make up with him after her adultery or if she is just a total idiot and blows it again. I'm so glad this show is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Up for its second episode, but has declines from the opener by quite a lot, but I still enjoy it as much!
Nick and Hannah are going no where, but we finally see Aubrey and what's this? She wrote a book. When he gets back to work he finds out that his job has been taken, but the Dean does something to help him get it back. But then again, we know Nick, he'll probably do something to piss people off.
Hannah and Big Cat get even stronger, as Eddie and Janet do as well. I'm really happy about Eddie and Janet, tehy're ironically the perfect couple. Phil and Pizza Girl try to understand each other a lot better, and they end up pretty sweet, but will Jason stand in the way?

The second episode of the season brings more character development, mostly for Janet and Eddie, who finally start dating in public. I was happy to finally see Eddie step up. I never thought he'd actually do it, and it's obvious people can change. I hope he doesn't hurt Janet anytime soon.
Hannah is acting confused. I understand why she can't just jump back in, but all this going around with Ray isn't comfortable. But at least it's providing a good story for the beginning of the season. We didn't see much development in the Rowan story, but it was nice seeing Ikey run away from the bar. I hope it's just the beginning of his penance. The TV set scenes were fine, I got the usual amount of fun from Physical Phil. Sometime it's to let go and I can't wait to see him out of the house.
Nick went through a lot in this episode. I felt sorry for him at the beginning of the episode, and at the very end. He's gonna need to find a way to make things right. Hannah chose a different path, he lost his job and Aubrey isn't there for him anymore. I really hope he gets somewhere with Aubrey. She's a fine girl and they deserve a chance to be together.
Plus, Sean Gunn made his first appearance as Rooster. I'm looking forward to seeing him on the show. He should provide quite a good amount of funny scenes.
