First of all, I love Big Cat's ex-wife. She is great, I could see why they got married, they are so much alike. I wonder why they split-up. I was so angry at what Christine said to Hannah at the garage sale, and I am glad Hannah punched, she had no right to say that about Sam. I like that Pizza Girl is trying to take small steps to get Physical Phil out of the house more. I can't believe she actually pushed the car when it died in the street, so he wouldn't have to get out of the car. That is dedication and love, I don't know if I would do that for my boyfriend. My two favorite characters are Nick and Ronnie. I love how Nick was trying to be a good big brother and get Ronnie out and dating. I love how he and Aubrey hooked Ronnie up, but the whole time Ronnie was developing feelings for Aubrey and it became very obvious in this episode, so much that Ikey noticed, but no one else. I like that Ronnie went to Ikey to try and figure out how to stop having the feelings for Aubrey. I thought the love scene between Nick and Aubrey was a little awkward, especially with the rubbing of the ear lobes. I guess I really just want Nick and Hannah back together that I don't like him with Aubrey. My favorite line in this episode was said by Ikey to Ronnie "dude every time she burps it is like you heard the symphony". Ikey has some of the best one-liners!
There was really nothing special to this episode, but I'd be wrong to say that I did not enjoy watching it because I kinda' enjoyed it quite a lot. Hannah continues to impress me, and so has Laura Prepon. Cataldo isn't seeming so bad anymore, whereas his ex-wife is being major b*tch, I'm just glad Hannah punched the hell out of her. I sort of pity Ronnie who has a secret crush on Aubrey, but can't and won't compete with his brother, though Ikkie, the master of cheating, might teach him a thing or to about getting the girl that ain't yours.
The show doesnt seem to follow the timeline very well. The end of the last episode showed Owen depressed outside of a window because he had just seen his wife get a ride home from Ikey, yet nothing was touched upon about that in this episode. Physical Phil stepped into the spotlight for the second time and the longer I watch his storyline the more boring it gets for his "Im not leaving the house" storyline. When the car broke down at the end I was sure he was going to change his ways, but just seeing the Pizza Girl push the car back down the street was so pathetic and lame. Nick and Aubrey saved the epsiode with them getting it on, which promted Nicks Brother to leave a beautiful blonde woman to...go to Ikey? Power play there. This was the weakest October Road episode I thought. There didnt seem to be much character devolopment.
After last week's perfect episode, I thought it was unable to top that episode. However, this episode proved to be yet another great installment. I totally agree with the writers on the every episode being a special story, like a separate movie or something.
Okay, so we didn't get any Janet and Eddie today, but others got more air time. The connection between Pizza Girl and Phil is great. They work great as a couple and always provide fun scenes. Hannah got to fight a super-villain Christine and I'm glad she punched her. She definitely deserved it. Nice going.
And finally, I got more Nick and Aubrey. I don't like the fact that Ronnie has feelings for Aubrey, but still, it provides a good plot for the future and it was nice having a story for Ronnie. I wonder why they didn't put him on contract if he appears in each episode. Anyway, I was amazed that Aubrey finally stepped up and told Nick everything that bothered her. And then the twist at the end. Just great.
I just love the music in the show. It concludes a certain episode and gives it a warmer feeling. We're left with a lot of questions for the future: Will Hannah and Ray tie the knot? Will Aubrey and Nick stay together? Will Ronnie tell Aubrey about his feelings for her? How will Eddie and Janet's relationship continue? What's in store for Physical Phil and Pizza Girl? And what will happen to the Rowans? I can't wait to find out.
