Lucas: Great, it's gone global.
Haley: Yeah, well at least now the whole world knows all the nice things you said about me, to go along with all the crappy things that Nathan said about me.
Lucas: Well, what'd he say when you talked to him?
Haley: I haven't talked to him yet, I know, I just don't wanna pry open old wounds.
Lucas: Yeah, well I think the time capsule did that for you.
Haley: It just really sucks coz now I have to get back up on stage and sing for this benefit. It's like the worst possible time for all this stuff to blow up again. What'd you say to, uh, hooter girl when she made her topless debut?
Lucas: Ahhhhh, I told her she looked beautiful.
Haley: Oh, god!
Lucas: Hey, you know what? If you get into trouble, just roll that one out.
Haley: Yeah, I'll remember that, thanks. (edit)
Brooke: I know how to get the word out. I just need to call Mouth, he can help. And after my whole senator comment on the time capsule, he's so thrilled with me, I think he'd donate a kidney if I asked him to.
Peyton: Well, yeah but it's not like it's the first time you've ever told him that.
Brooke: What?
Peyton: Yeah, he mentioned the whole senator thing when we went on our boy draft date.
Brooke: But I never told him about it so how would he have known? (edit)
Brooke: I mean, there's probably gonna be some great advances in plastic surgery but there really needs to be some sort of record of my body at it's peak.
Peyton: OK, we've got a good news/bad news situation here.
Brooke: What could be worse than the whole school seeing your boobs?
Peyton: The whole world seeing them? Yeah, whoever decided to unleash the time capsule was also nice enough to upload it onto the web.
Brooke: Oh my god, I'm internet porn? Some creepy guy is watching me right now!
Peyton: Well, I'm guessing that's not all he's doing.
Brooke: Ewww! What's the good news?
Peyton: You did rank number twenty-three on Limewire.
Brooke: Really? (edit)
Keith: It's never too late to try and fix things. Speaking of, um, I got a little proposition for you. It's kind of, uh, off the subject… but I want you to understand that there is no wrong answer to this question, okay?
Lucas: Okay.
Keith: Okay, well,… well, you know I love you.
Lucas: Okay, Keith, I know that. What's up?
Keith: Well, me and your mom talked it over and, well, if it's okay with you, I'd like to adopt you. (Lucas is visibly surprised and taken aback) I-I want you to be my son. (Lucas unable to answer looks down) Well, would you just sit with it for a while and talk about it later, okay? And, remember, there is no wrong answer.
Lucas: (touched) Okay.
(After Keith has left Lucas smiles to himself happily) (edit)
Haley: (to Lucas) How's everything between you & Hooter Girl? (edit)

Trivia

add »
Someone broke open the time capsule that was recorded in the second season, Unopened Letters to the World. It was meant to be open 50 years from now. (edit)
Time Capsule recordings that were exposed:
Nathan Scott
Tim Smith
Lucas Scott
Brooke Davis
Jimmy Edwards
Jake Jagielski
Whitey Durham (edit)
During one of the shots of the concert, about 30 minutes into the episode, the crane-camera is visible in the shot, in the upper right. (edit)
Keith tells Lucas that he wants to adopt him and Lucas accepts the offer.

Edit: It is highly unlikely that the adoption would go through. Dan is listed as Lucas's legal and biological father on Lucas's birth certificate and therefore, Dan would have to relinquish his rights to Lucas in order for Keith to legally adopt Lucas (which, in all likelihood, Dan would never do). (edit)
Brooke's strip tease was ranked number 23 on Limewire. One of many references to number 23 on this show. (edit)

Allusions

add »
Jack's Mannequin performs The Mixed Tape. Hilarie Burton who plays Peyton Sawyer is in their music video playing Peyton. (edit)
Episode Title: Just Watch The Fireworks

Haley: What'd you say to Hooter girl when she made her topless debut?

Hooters is a restaurant that is all around the country with famous Hooters Girls. (edit)
The Outsiders:

When Nathan says how much fighting goes on in Tree Hill, Lucas alludes to The Outsiders and says that in the book/movie, Nathan would be one of the bad guys. (edit)
