After weeks and weeks of intense auditions the ten finalists for Oprah's new reality show Big Give are chosen. Oprah wants to deliver the good news to the contestants herself.

Kim is a 39 years old sports marketing executive for the Titans Radio Network.
Cameron is a 22 years old dot com millionaire. Brandi is 23 years old and was a Miss Arizona contestant in 2006. Angelo is a 29 years old former army captain. Marlene is a 37 years old Amtrak train attendant. Eric , 37 years old, is a disaster relief worker. Rachael is a 32 years old singer. Stephen is a 42 years old contractor. Sheg is a medical researcher and he is 24 years old.
Carlana is 38 years old, paraplegic and a TV producer.

The ten finalists arrive in Los Angeles to meet with Oprah. She explains, that this is a show designed after her own heart. The biggest giver will become the biggest winner. Each week the contestants will be handed over cash money and time ticking they have to change the lives of complete strangers.

The judges for the show will be Jamie Oliver, Malaak Compton-Rock and Tony Gonzales. Nate Berkus will be the host of the show. Oprah hands over a sealed envelope to each contestant with a picture, a name, one clue and 2500 $ in it. There are only five photographs and they have to team up with the person, who has the same picture. Outside the hangar five SUV's are waiting for them.

Eric and Stephen's goal is to help AJ, whose husband, a store manager, was shut and killed six weeks ago. She is the mother of young twin daughters and now struggles with house payments. Another concern is the college in the future.

Marlene and Kim get lost the first day and cannot find the person , that they are looking for. Angelo & Rachel are going to meet Shante Mc Vey, who is a single mother of a homeless family. She needs a home and some resources for the education of her son and daughter.

Cameron and Brandi have to help to Karen, a mother of a son with Down Syndrome. She is a care provider and takes care of persons with disabilities for the last twenty five years. She has founded a nonprofit organization High Hopes for that. High Hopes needs music instruments and bigger facilities.

Carlana and Sheg are going to help Eric, who has to pay off a student loan for his medicine study.
For that reason they plan to arrange a fashion show and want to contact some celebrities.

Cameron and Brandi immediately start to raise funds in the hotel, where they are staying. After that they visit local businesses and the local casino, which gives a check of five thousand dollars.

Marlene and Kim finally find Karl Newman, the soldier they have been looking for. After being injured in Iraq war he has been honorably discharged from service. His main concern is about housing and not being able to fulfill the needs of his family. Kim calls a friend and client in Nashville/Tennessee, the vice president of Bridgestone/Firestone and gets a donation of 25.000 dollars.

Eric and Stephen's strategy is to get help from the big companies. They arrange a scholarship for the daughters. In the meantime the judges control, what plans the contestants have to raise money. Eric and Stephen head up to AJ's neighborhood and want to arrange a block party.

Angelo and Rachel are going to raise money in a church. After an announcement Rachel starts singing, while baskets are passes around in the crowd and filled with money summing up 14.000 dollars.

It's the last day and the teams have to reveal, what they have collected for the people they want to change the lives.

Stephen and Eric take the twins to a shopping center and tell them, that they can pick up as many toys as they want. In between the neighbors prepare for the block party. More than three hundred people are waiting in front of AJ's house and she is overwhelmed with the support she gets. The father of the local church announces the scholarship of eight years for the twins. The team has also collected donations to pay off 50000 dollars mortgage. The kids write some notes to their father and they tie them up to the balloons, which will carry them all the way to the heaven.

Angelo and Rachel have secured Shante and her family a two-bedroom home including six months of rent and home appliances paid. The children get 20000 dollars scholarship. In addition they hand over a check of 50000 dollars and a brand new car.

Kim and Marlene take Karl and family to a beach house, for which the first month rent and the utilities are already paid. They also get the check of 25000 dollars for a new start in their life.

For Brandi and Cameron's reveal the whole community comes together to show Karen that they support her. High Hopes gets new musical instruments worth 5300 dollars. Cameron and Brandi announce, that they have succeeded to collect cash and check donations totaling 43000 dollars. High Hopes will also get a bigger facility for six years , which can hold meetings up to one thousand people.

Carlana and Sheg fail to collect any money from the audience after the fashion show. But Jamie Foxx saves the night with a donation of 50000 dollars.

Nate Berkus explains to the contestants, that they will be reviewed on four categories, namely creativity, leadership, presentation and accomplishments. At the end every contestant gets an envelope and if there is a plane ticket inside they can move on to the next challenge. The empty envelope is for Marlene Snipes, as she could not raise any money for Karl's family. She has to leave.
