Panic!, P!ATD, Panic At The Disco, PATD, Panic, P@TD
Panic! At The Disco comes from the suburbs of Las Vegas, Nevada in 2004. The band formed when friends Spencer Smith and Ryan Ross became tired of covering the blink-182 tunes and recruited classmates Brendon Urie and Brent Wilson. Panic! At The Disco soon caught the eye of Fall Out Boy bassist and owner of Decaydance Records Pete Wentz, who quickly signed them. It really helped with their clever lyrics, pop-punk influenced songs with some theatrical touches, and catchy beats to get Wentz's attention. Wentz referred them to Fueled By Ramen, who signed them to Wentz imprinted label. They wereMore still in high school when this all happened.

They recorded their debut album, "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out," with Matt Squire. Their debut was released in September 2005, and soon they hit the road on the successful Nintendo Fusion Tour with bands Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack, Boys Night Out, and the Starting Line. In early 2006, their first single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" found its way up the TRL charts, and the band received even more attention and more fans. Also in 2006, the bad set on the road with Acceptance, The Academy Is…, and Hellogoodbye. And the band continued to prove being as success; they played at sold-out venues in many locations. The band attracted a lot of recognition because of their online presence, with Purevolume having them consistently on their Top 10 signed band list and reaching #1 on the MySpace chart. They also did well on TRL. But the band had no real plans to go mainstream. They said that they never meant for it to happen, and they apologized for it on their website.

Panic! found great success, but in 2006, some changes were made. Panic! bassist Brent Wilson was kicked out and replaced with the band's friend Jon Walker, who they met while he was working with The Academy Is . . .. Brent seeked legal action against his ex-band mates, but Panic successfully continued on, headlining their first tour in summer 2006, winning an MTV VMA, and heading out on a successful tour in fall of 2006. After their tour, the guys in Panic! decided to take some time off in early 2007 to work on their sophomore album. In 2008, the band went through another change, dropping the "!" from their original name Panic! At The Disco, but also released their second album and embarked on a tour, delighting fans who were glad to hear from a favorite band again.

On July 6, 2009, Ryan Ross and Jon Walker announced that they would be leaving the band to pursue their own music careers, and Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith announced they would carry on as Panic! At The Disco, also readding the "!" to the name. This news was a complete shock to the fans, but the band guaranteed that their upcoming tour dates with blink-182 and No Doubt would go on as scheduled and still release upcoming music that had already been planned.

I know this is a Panic! at the Disco forum, but most of my friends who like Panic also like My Chemical Romance and I just got this amazing MCR promo vest from their website. It also comes with a sick bullet flash drive that has live concert footage and sweet live photos. • How Did You Discover The Band?

Oddly enough, they don't have a forum at MP3.com yet. I heard about them during an interview I read with Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump, and when I saw their video on Yahoo music, I was very curious.  Then one day when I went shopping at a book store, I saw their album and bought it. Then I totallyMore fell in love with it.

  • Damn, why is there so much hate for P!ATD?

For 2006, Panic! has gotten named worst band in so much.  And at the NME awards, they were named worst band.  They have a strong fan base, but so many hate them.  I do think it is funny that in SPIN magazine, they were named both Best & Worst band.  That's so strange.

  • Panic! At The Disco TV Appearances

I figured I'd start this thread to let people know what shows Panic! will be on. And to start out, they'll be on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" on Tuesday, November 14, 2006.  On NBC, after Leno is on. Bout time they are on Cone Zone too.  I thought they'd be on a while ago before they gotMore mainstream.  Or so mainstream.

not as good as fall out boy but came close. hide show

panic at the disco is one of the best and the coolest bands in the world .their music is great but does not came close to fall out boy's take this to your grave and infinity on high.their best album is the first one with the i write sins for tragedy but its better if you do and teen hearts beating.they have perform live in many countries and actually quite good at it ...perform live that is.fall out boy vs panic at the disco ... no doubt fall out boy owns them in any other way but i must say that this band can surpass fall out boy in the near future.

A long-winded sort of review, in which I say EXACTLY what I think, and still manage to be confusing. hide show

I originally came across Panic two years ago. "Hmm." I said, after taking a longer than customary decision period. "I like them." Their music was, to me, different. At the time, only A Fever You Can't Sweat Out had been released. I found the rhythms hypnotic, and toe-tappingly good. In my head, I did my customary tear-it-apart. I listened to each song, over and over and over again, and I listened to a different instrument each time. "They use more than the customary instruments." I thought, a little awed. "Hell. Yes."

The music was hard to genre. Was it electronic? They were definitely using a synthesizer, but...nah. Rock? Probably. In a backwards sort of way. Emo? Well, they were emotional. Punk? Now I was just being silly.

After giving up my attempt to categorize them, I looked at their lyrics. Originally, I had done what was average for me. Listen, and make sense of it the best I can. Put it to my own experiences. And I could do this for some of the songs. Build God, Then We'll Talk was easy. It was a story. But others...What, I wondered, was the meaning of Camisado? I know now that it's a tale of an alcoholic father, and am glad I was unable to relate.

Their new album came out earlier this year, and I did something I normally don't do. I grabbed my wallet, walked to Wal-mart, and bought it. I'd heard rumors of it being different.

"Different good, or different bad?" I had asked.

Those I questioned shrugged their shoulders, and gave me helpless looks. One friend even went so far as to splutter out an "I can't tell yet!"

To tell the truth, I wasn't sure at first either. It was folksy, and mellow, and vaguely reminded me of the Beatles. There was less bitterness, and at one point, they even sang of clouds. But there are more instrumentation in this than the last album. I could hear low brass and low reeds in the backgrounds of some songs. The songs are so light and airy. And as with the first album, the more I listened to it, the more I liked it. The lead singer's voice matured, the lyricists lyrics did too, and the whole band seems to be pulling itself together before my very eyes.

I've seen interviews with the band members, disparaging of being seen for their faces, and not their music. And I've seen too many a comment over the looks of the band members (often made by young fans) to prove this worry something other than groundless. And while I am certainly not someone who will turn a blind eye to a pretty face, I'd just like to let anyone listening know, that I heard the music first.

Panic(!) at the Disco is an alternative-ish style band featuring Brendon Urie(lead singer),(George) Ryan Ross(guitar), Spencer Smith(drums), and Jon Walker(bass). Their 1st album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, came out in 2005, and my favorite songs are Camisado, But its Better If You Do, Time to Dance, and, of course, I Write Sins Not Tragedies. Their newest album, Pretty.Odd., came out this year and pretty much every single song on there is my favorite. :] People say that Panic has changed, and they did, but everyone changes. That's what That Green Gentleman is about. :] I seriously love Brendon's voice. It soothes me. :] And their music videos are just so flippin hilarious! Welll..... what can I say? They have great music, great style, great looks(hey, you just can't ignore how adorable Ryan is!)....and they're just great altogether!

    PANIC OWNZ!!!!!!!!!!
