Their annual erotic rendezvous at the Passion Cove beach house begins when Baker enters the bedroom to find Trisha sleeping naked in the bed. Quietly he removes the covers and as he undresses and climbs into the bed Trisha opens her eyes and the couple embrace.
In the afterglow their conversation reveals that they have been meeting one weekend per year for the past six years. During the remaining fifty-one weeks they live their lives and both are involved with other parties.
Baker attempts to tell Trisha that he wants more than one weekend per year but she doesn’t seem open to that kind of thinking.
The next day Baker goes for a run on the beach but he is out for more than exercise. Down the beach he meets his full time lover, Alicia. She has been convinced that Baker is attending a men only business meeting and seems glad that he was able to break away for the few minutes they have together. When their time together is over, Baker starts to walk back to the Passion Cove. Before he goes he proposes to Alicia. She is grateful, overwhelmed and doesn’t commit. It seems that Baker was preparing a proposal for someone other than Trisha.
Back at the beach house, Conrad, Tricia’s significant other arrives. Conversation reveals that he not only knows about Trisha and Bakers annual rendezvous but that Trisha has planned to break up with Baker during this weekend. Great minds think alike.
After Trisha and Conrad finish their workout, Conrad produces an engagement ring and tells Trisha he wants to make their union official.
As Baker returns he practices telling Trisha that the need to break up their cozy arrangement. A call from Samantha forces the issue. Simultaneously Baker and Trisha tell each other that their other life has become more permanent. Trisha shows Baker the ring Conrad proposed with. Baker places the ring on Trisha’s ring finger and admits that it was the second ring he has placed on a finger that day and that he had proposed to Alicia that morning. They part friends, lovers no more as Baker leaves and Trisha calls Conrad to come and join her for her last night at Passion Cove.
