Patrick Macnee has been an English language narrator for the Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple in Luxor, Egypt. (edit)
When approached by Leonard White and Sydney Newman of ABC (Associated British Corp.) Television to act in "The Avengers," Patrick Macnee was working as a producer of the documentary version of Sir Winston Churchill's "The Valiant Years." As a consequence, Macnee was ready to reject the role, then learned he could ask for a six-fold increase in his weekly salary. He did, although he settled for tripling it. (edit)
