I was thinking about what kind of episode they didn't do in PB&J Otter that was original, and I came up with this: Lights, Camera, Otter ( I'm going to write a transcript, but it will take too long, so I'm going to make a summary for now. Short Summary: The kids on Lake Hoohaw, after watching a movie that Mayor Jeff showed them, decide to make their own movie. The problem is, they can't all agree on what the movie should be about. Detailed Summary: ( This does have quotes in it, but not all of the quotes that will be in there. If you don't want any of it to be spoiled, don't read ahead.) The episode opens up on a shot of Mayor Jeff's boat. Flick says the name for this episode. The title disappears and we can hear some noise coming from inside the boat. We now see that Mayor Jeff is showing the kids a movie on a film strip projector. The movie is called "Mallard Man Saves the Day." The kids are ooohing and ahhhing at the action in the movie. Mayor Jeff abruptly stops the projector, just as Mallard Man makes it inside a cave. "Sorry, y'all," he says. "But I promised your parents you'd be back in time for lunch." The kids are disappointed. All of them go "Awww..." and say various stuff. "Well, perhaps I can arrange for you to come again tomorrow. Then you can see what happens to Mallard Man, okay?" Mayor Jeff adds. The kids cheer and walk out of Mayor Jeff's boat. The camera wipes to PB&J at the table in their house eating lunch. "Mayor Jeff showed us a cool movie today, Mama," says Jelly. Butter giggles. "Well, isn't that nice of him," says Opal. "How did you kids like the movie?" "It was great..." starts Peanut, "...but we didn't get to finish it," he finishes with a frown."But," he adds after a beat, "he's going to show us the rest of it tomorrow." The camera does another wipe, this time back to Mayor Jeff's boat where PB&J are. "I'm sorry, PB&J," says Mayor Jeff. "I put the film in my closet, but now it is missing. I can't find it anywhere." PB&J look disappointed. "Does this mean you can't show us the movie tomorrow, Mayor Jeff?" asks Peanut. "I'm afraid so, Peanut," he replies. "I'll have to clean up my whole boat to find that film. Maybe some other time." The camera cuts to PB&J sitting in their sandbox being bored the next day. Flick, Pinch, Scootch, and Munchy run past them and stop. Munchy runs to them. "Guys, you're going to miss the movie. Aren't you coming?" "We can't, Munchy," says Jelly. "Why not?" asks Flick. "Mayor Jeff lost the film." Everyone minus PB&J let out a disappointed "Awww..." "Hey!" says Jelly, all of a sudden. "We should do a Noodle Dance. Then we might figure out what to do." She stands up. "I'll noodle," says Peanut, "but I'm too disappointed to dance." The Noodle Dance Music starts and Peanut soon joins in. "I've got it!" says Pinch as her idea is shown on the screen. "We could use a time machine to go back in time and get the film. Then we'd bring it back to the present, and Mayor Jeff would have it again." "That's a great idea, Pinch," says Jelly. "But where are we going to find a time machine?" "Good point," she replies. "How about this?" asks Munchy. "We could go ask Mayor Jeff if we could help him clean up his boat. Then, with the extra help, he could find the film faster." Everyone pauses for two beats. "But Mayor Jeff looked kind of busy," says Peanut. "I don't think we could help him." "Aw, Cheese and Quackers! This stinks! I'd rather make our own movie then worries about this!" Peanut stops. "Hey...that's it!" he says. "I'm glad you see it my way," says Flick. "No," says Peanut. "I mean, 'That's it!'. as in we should make our own movie." Everyone likes the idea. "Great idea, Flick," says Jelly. "Yeah," adds Munchy. PB&J run out of their house-boat with a a box full of movie-making gear (eg. a camera, a megaphone, a clapboard...etc.). "It sure was nice of your parents to let us use their movie equpment," says Munchy. "Now, you kids be careful," says Ernest. "And don't forget to have fun." Scootch looks inside the box and spots the megaphone. He pulls it out and says into it, "Testing, testing." (it's on) Scootch is surprised by the noise. "Sorry, sorry. My fault. My fault," he says. The Cranes heard the noise, however. "Watchbird Alert! Watchbird Alert!" says Cap'n Crane. "Scootch has lost control of his voice!" Connie looks down and sees what's really going on. "Um, Dear," says Connie, "Scootch is holding a megaphone." "Oh. That may be a part of it," says Cap'n. ( I'm going to stop here for now. I need to think more about what I want to put in the story and write it out. But I hope you like what I have so far.) less «
