    • The band name 311 is taken from an incident when Jim Watson got caught skinny dipping. The police charged him for indecent exposure, and the citation code was '311'.

    • 311's lead singer Nick Hexum dated and was engaged to Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger.

    • 311 have released three home videos; Enlarged to Show Detail (1997), Enlarged to Show Detail 2 (2002) and 311 Day: Live in New Orleans (2004).

    • In 2004, 311 covered The Cure's classic single "Love Song" for the 50 First Dates soundtrack. The single reached #1 on Billboard's Modern Rock chart, a feat the band had only accomplished once previously with their 1996 single "Down".

    • 311's most financially successful album is their self-titled album which was released in 1995 and has sold over three million units in the United States.
