Joey Mercury, Johnny Nitro and Melina, also known as MNM, made their WWE debut on the April 14 edition of SmackDown!
MNM actually crashed the first-ever edition of Carlito's Cabana. Carlito was interviewing WWE Tag Team Champion Rey Mysterio when Nitro and Mercury, wearing jeans and fur coats, were escorted to the ring by the lovely Melina on a red carpet.
Moments after Melina told Rey that her boys deserved a chance to win the WWE Tag Team Championship, the duo attacked Mysterio and gleefully left the ring.

On 17 December 2006 Joey wrestled in a 4-way ladder match at WWE's annual pay-per-view "Armageddon" in Richmond, Virginia with his partner Johnny Nitro. The other 3 teams in the match were Jeff & Matt Hardy against William Regal & Dave Taylor against Brian Kendrick and Paul London. Joey was hit in the face with a ladder but the move was botched and did not come off like it was originally scripted and broke bones in his face and he was rushed to a nearby hospital bleeding profusely. He not only had his nose broken he had to have 5 stiches to the inside of his nose and 15 to the outside. Joey returned to "WWE Friday Night Smackdown" for the very next episode that aired on Friday night, 22 December wearing a protective face mask and called out Matt Hardy to the ring. As he confronted Matt he blamed him and his brother Jeff for his terrible appearance and demanded Matt fight him in a match but Matt refused and began to walk away. Joey's sometime tag-team partner Johnny Nitro who was a regular on the "WWE Monday Night Raw" show ran to the ring and wrestled Matt instead beating Matt via pinfall due to outside interference from Joey. On the next broadcast of Smackdown on Friday 19 January, Joey still wearing his protective facegear pinned Matt with outside interference help from Johnny. After the match was over the 2 along with their manager Melina then began to attack Matt viciously ending the attack when Joey gave Matt a "Snapshot" onto the bare concrete floor. The Hardy Boys and MNM have continued to wrestle against each other since all over North America an Canada in various type matches all set up intentionally to inflict terrible pain on one another.
