    • Adam: I love movie-making. I'm interested in writing and directing, and I've dabbled, but I haven't done anything I care to brag about. Yet.
    • Adam: I'd like to write a little bit. If I could trade being an actor for a writer, I'd rather be a writer. But I don't know if I'm I'm any good at it.
    • Adam: (on going on location to film movies) I actually enjoy filming on location. I love the idea of going somewhere else for three months and living there and making your hotel room your home and immersing yourself in a different city. That's very therapeutic for me.
    • Adam: (on avoiding the pit falls of Hollywood) I like to have my fun too, but I also know what situations to avoid. For instance, you're not going to see me leaving the latest trendy nightclub with Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton. But don't think I don't know how to enjoy myself; I just know how to do it privately.
    • Adam: Compassion and a sense of humor are the most important qualities to me. I never want to date that girl who everyone thinks is a b***h.
    • Adam: ... honestly, who cares if you get a good movie or not? I feel like I'm in semi-retirement already a little bit. I'm 27, and I have a house. I've decided that I'm happy with my lot in life.
    • Adam: (on what was he like in high school) While I wasn't a Casanova, I had cute girlfriends. I was all about surfing and pretty much lived at the beach–-I was the "California Guy." I had poor grades and knew only one other Jewish kid. Then I moved to Hollywood and realized that reading and drinking coffee are where its at and that everyone's Jewish. So I became more nerdy and embraced my neurotic side.
    • Adam: (whether he will ever do an ensemble TV show again or not) Sure, I would. Although, next time around, I will be thinking a little more about schedule and how it's going to work and what it means for my days of the week. When you're going to do something for 1-10 years, it's something to think about. We'll see if I'm in a position, when that happens, to factor that in.
    • Adam: I'm a fake intellectual. I'm not that well-read, which I'm insecure about, since I've got the intellectual niche.
    • Adam: Girls always want a hug... I'll be standing at the local mall, and suddenly there will be an assembly line of girls... like I'm Santa.
    • Adam: I like to think I'm steadier on my feet with girls, but other than that, I'm similar to Seth [his character in The O.C.. We're into the same things, and we even dress alike. Sometimes the cast asks if I'm in costume when we're rehearsing.
    • Adam: I was reading Entertainment Weekly and Conan O'Brien was talking about his future and he said something like, 'Who knows, maybe in five years I'll be living in a pool house on The O.C.?' And I thought, 'Oh my God, it's pop culture now, it's officially out there.'
    • Adam: I've resisted buying a PlayStation 2 because I'm not going to school, and I'm feeling sort of guilty about it, so I'm trying to read a lot to kind of make up for that. And I just feel, I have too many friends who get one and disappear for three months, 'Sorry man, I got a PlayStation 2, I beat the game finally, and I'm back.'
    • Adam: I just graduated from high school, and I was working at Blockbuster. Not only did I get into movies while I was there, but I was putting away boxes and looking at the kids on the covers. It felt like windows into these seemingly perfect lives.
    • Adam: I feel like Hollywood is a big high school again. Seriously, Ashton Kutcher is the prom king.
