Birth Name:
Adam Richard Sandler
Adam Richard Sandler was born September 9, 1966 in Brooklyn, New York. He is a Jewish-American actor, comedian, producer. Adam was raised in Manchester, New Hampshire.

In the late 1980s, Sandler portrayed "Smitty" on The Cosby Show. He also was a performer for the MTV game show Remote Control, on which he made appearances as the characters "Trivia Delinquent" or "Stud Boy."

Adam started performing in comedy clubs by taking the stage at a club in Boston. He was then discovered by comedian, Dennis Miller, who caught his act in Los Angeles. Miller

More immediately recommended him to Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels. Adam was hired as a writer for SNL in 1990 and became a featured player the following year, quickly making a name for himself by performing amusing original songs on the show, including The Chanukah Song. He left the popular show in 1995 to focus on his acting career.

Adam's first starring movie was Billy Madison, in which he plays a grown man repeating grades 1-12 to get his reluctant father's hotel empire. He followed this movie up with other surprisingly successful comedies such as Happy Gilmore and The Wedding Singer. After The Waterboy, Adam reached box-office superstardom, where he has remained since.

Although generally despised by movie critics, audiences have remained faithful to Adam's slapstick humor to the tune of $100-million-plus grossing movies, while the Sandman has even moved outside the genre of goofball humor to take on more serious parts such as the critically acclaimed Punch-Drunk Love, and Spanglish.

A celebrity comic who keeps a low profile, he rarely gives interviews and keeps his personal life private. Adam graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1991. On June 22, 2003, he wed model Jackie Titone, whom he'd met on the set of Big Daddy.

Adam Sandler is my favorite comedian of all time, and is so funny

If you want the craziest comedian of all time (Besides Jim Carrey),it's Adam Sandler. He has got to be my favorite comedian of all time. His movies are great and are just funny. Some of the examples are Eight Crazy Nights,Grown Ups,Bedtime Stories and many more. However, not all his movies are good. You Don't Mess with the Zohan was a horrible movie, and his new movie Jack and Jill looks like an epic failure too. So yeah,I have to admit that some of his movies are bad. But overall,he is a great comedian, and is just as good as Jim Carrey

    Kind of overrated. hide show

I've seen some of Adam Sandler's movies. I am glad that I haven't seen all of them. First, he tries to be funny when all he ends up doing is looking like a guy that tries too hard and over does it by a mile. Another thing, some of his directory work is quite laughable, but not in a good way. I wish he would do better movies and take them more seriously because I don't like having to see his comedy movies because they are so similar. Overall, he is not funny enough to be considered one of the better actors. Thank you.

    1.5 Abysmal
Same roll in the same movies hide show

Adam Sandler has a tendency to always play identical roles in movies that are pretty much identical with perhaps a few exceptions. His talent 'skills' are non existent and all consist of him trying to make a face and look stupid while usually talking funny - or at least trying to. Maybe he has been unlucky and only been getting roles in bad movies and having bad directors but that is very unlikely and he is probably just bad at what he is doing. That anyone acually enjoys watching him is a mysterium to me. He should probably quit acting immediatly and try something else.
