Contrary to popular belief, Adam West was not the first actor to play Batman. In 1943, Lewis Wilson portrayed Batman in a serial titled, The Batman. Also, Robert Lowery played the role in another serial titled, Batman and Robin in 1949.
Adam was offered the role of James Bond after Sean Connery decided to give up the role.
A parody of him was used in the show Kim Possible. In that episode the voice actor Will Friedle (as Ron Stoppable) plays a student of Adam West (as Timothy North) in a similar roles as they played on Batman Beyond. In that show Will Friedle plays the new Batman under the watchful eye of the original/old Batman.
Adam first began voicing Batman in the 1977 series called The New Adventures of Batman.
