  • Quotes

    • Adrian Pasdar: (On co-directing with Randall Arney) Co-directing could be a nightmare if you didn't agree about how to do it. We have two completely different approaches -- I'm much more pointed and direct in terms of talking to the actors.

    • Adrian Pasdar: My wife has got these trees from the 50s. These metal trees with the silver things coming out so at first it was hard for me to get my head around not having a real tree in the house. So thats a new thing for me as part of our Christmas, 1950's style Christmas.

    • Adrian Pasdar: My father told me a man can fish for hours, not catch a fish, and be happy, but he can't wait three minutes for his wife to get ready for dinner. There's something about patience I learned there.

    • Adrian Pasdar: (On his audition for 'Heroes') It was a rainy morning, I was late and I had another meeting at Disney. There were a few guys in the room ahead of me. I asked them if I could go ahead because I had a meeting. They said sure. It was one of those moments where as soon as you walk in the door, you just have a really good feeling about what you're about to do. All I knew was I couldn't have done it any better. Whether I get the job or not is often completely out of my hands but sometimes the quality of the audition is the only thing you can really control. I knew I did a dynamite job in there. It was a very short and sweet little scene, but I nailed it.

    • Adrian Pasdar: (How he and Milo created a bond that allows them to act as brothers) Nothing intentional. The bond we share is unique, and would have been forged were we ice fishing in Alaska or baking bread in Bolivia. We just happened to meet up on the set, and a friendship took flight. So to speak…

    • Adrian Pasdar: (On Tim Kring, creator of Heroes) Tim has got something in his head, and I can't purport to understand it. You can open that door, and it's scary in there.

    • Adrian Pasdar: (On the TV show 'Heroes') After reading the pilot, I told them that the politician has to get together with the stripper. That's Drama 101: Put the politician with their biggest liability, the stripper.

    • Adrian Pasdar: I think network television has underestimated the intelligence of viewers for many years. I think the average viewer is much more intelligent than executives give them credit for. They crave intensity and are willing to sit down and watch a quality show.

    • Adrian Pasdar (On Mysterious Ways): As ironic as it sounds, anthropology was my favorite class in college. The show has a great mix of drama and comedy, and the relationship between my character and Peggy has an interesting synergy. It's a real cerebral chemistry between our characters-she's analytical and my character's more ethereal, which is really interesting to watch.

    • Adrian Pasdar: I love directing. It's a different level of focus and a real mental challenge.

    • Adrian Pasdar: I have gotten so out of touch with reality that one day in 1992, I just sold my house at a $200,000.00 loss, moved back East, and put my money into T-bills.

  • Plays Nathan Petrelli on Heroes...

    9.5
At the age of 19, he auditioned for a role in Top Gun. Director Tony Scott was so impressed that he wrote the part of "Chipper" just for him. This led to bigger roles in Solarbabies (1986), Streets of Gold (1986), and Kathryn Bigelow's 1987 cult vampire movie Near Dark (1987), with Pasdar in the lead role of Caleb Colton. Other major roles include Vital Signs (1990). Pasdar got his biggest break in in movies, when he starred as a beautiful woman opposite Julie Walters in the Brtish movie Just Like A Woman. In 1992, he left Hollywood and returned to New York, working as a cashier for room and board, while taking the occasional small part, such as Frankie in Brian De Palma's Carlito's Way (1993).

Adrian Pasdar wrote and directed the short film Beyond Belief and directed his first feature film, the art-house neo-noir Cement, a contemporary re-telling of Othello, in 1999. The $1.7 million independent feature, which won Best Picture awards on the festival circuit, starred Chris Penn, Jeffrey Wright, Sherilyn Fenn, Henry Czerny and was written by Farscape's screenwriter Justin Monjo.

Pasdar's major break into television came in 1996, when he was cast as the title character on the short-lived Fox series Profit. From 2000 to 2002, Pasdar played the lead role of Anthropology Professor Declan Dunn in the spooky cult drama series Mysterious Ways on PAX.

Pasdar played David McClaren in the final two seasons of the long-running CBS drama Judging Amy, from 2003 through 2005. In 2006, he had a high-profile guest role as Gabrielle Solis's sleazy lawyer in Desperate Housewives.

He currently stars in the NBC superhero drama Heroes as Nathan Petrelli. He bases his mysterious character on "the most morally liquid characters" that he's encountered in his life. The character is not based on one particular political figure, but on a conglomerate of different ones, both good and bad.

Pasdar frequently posts videos of his Heroes co-stars on the video-sharing site YouTube under the username "buckshotwon."

Adrian play nathan Petrelli on Heroes and he is a great character he plays a character you can never trust on the show, I think Adrian fashion is terrible though but that is one of the things i like about him.moreless
