Adrienne: (on what people have said about her portrayal of Amber Moore on Internet message boards) I don't want to read what people have to say about me. I did that a couple of years ago, and I got so mad.
Adrienne: (on any possible connection Amber may have connections with the evil Sheila Carter) We were archnemesises [on The Bold and the Beautiful]. She hated me because I always saved the day. Nobody has told me that there's a connection now, though. But I'm not Sheila. Amber is not Sheila! You can let that rumor die!
Adrienne: I've always been an animal lover, ever since I was a little girl I would always bring animals home and rescue them. Cats or dogs or whatever, raccoons. When I was a little girl I found a raccoon and kept it as a pet for a little while because it didn't have a mother. I have three cats and two dogs. I belong to a lot of different animal rescue shelters and whenever I have time I try to help other people or animals.
Adrienne (on her song, Seren): I wrote it for my goddaughter. She was born in January and I was there for her birth and then I went back to New York to write some more. While I was away she almost died and it just broke my heart because there was nothing I could do. I was all the way across the country and she was in NICU for the first three weeks of her life. That song, to me, is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever written in my life. And now she's happy and healthy and it's the one song that will make her fall asleep in a heartbeat.
(Adrienne on marriage and children)
Adrienne: It's a long way off. I had a boyfriend for seven years and I'm not with him because I don't want to be married. There's a lot more to it than that, obviously, but there's still a lot of things that I want to go out and do. I'm definitely not ready to settle down. I'm not scared of commitment; I'm just enjoying me time right now.
Adrienne (on being single): If I met someone and it was great and I was in love, then I went away on tour, I would be sad to leave them. I want to go out and enjoy my time on the road.
(Adrienne on her debut album, Anomaly)
Adrienne: The album is called Anomaly, which by definition, is a deviation or departure from anything normal, and the album is definitely not normal. All the songs kind of meld together but they are all different. One song in particular that makes me cry every time I hear it, is called Seren. I wrote it for my goddaughter.
(Adrienne on her greatest weakness)
Adrienne: Cute boys, definitely. I'll see a guy and my heart will sink into my stomach. I'm a hopeless romantic. That's why I'm trying to become a hermit before I go on tour, because if I meet somebody, I'm not going to want to go. That's probably my greatest weakness; I love men.
(Adrienne's reply when asked how she keeps in such good shape)
Adrienne: I don't know, I don't work out and I eat badly. It's good genes I guess. I bought a gym membership a couple of months ago and I've gone three times. Maybe I'll get inspired one day and just want to go and work out and have a killer body. I shouldn't say that I don't exercise because I walk my dogs. I have two chocolate labs, Lucy and Ethel. Ethel's my little terror because she's always all over the place but Lucy's my tub of love and I want her to exercise so I walk them every day.
Adrienne (asked what she does in her down time): I'm actually writing a screenplay right now. I've been working on it for about a year and, hopefully, I'll end up being able to make it into a movie. But that's after I finish touring. I write a lot of poetry. I try to have a little bit of a normal life: I like hanging out with my dogs, but I don't really have 'down time'.
(Adrienne describing herself…)
Adrienne: [I am] A free spirit. But I don't sit and wait for things to happen, I'm a very driven person. I'm always doing something, whether it's writing or playing piano. I also write screenplays.
Adrienne: I just finished a film based on a true story about a serial killer who's the guy they based Psycho and Texas Chainsaw Massacre on. I also did a romantic comedy called Angst and I did a comedy horror film that is called Hack.
Adrienne: I love film and I really love diving into different characters that are unlike myself. The last film that I did was a 1950's period piece and I was this little girl with a southern accent, somebody totally unlike me.
(Adrienne on when she may return to The Bold And The Beautiful)
Adrienne: Not in the near future, but someday, maybe. I love The Bold And The Beautiful. I grew up on that show and the cast is like family to me. But right now, I'm focusing on my music and getting ready to tour, and I'm definitely heading out to Australia.
Adrienne (on choosing between acting and singing): I can't have a choice! I miss acting when I'm not acting, and I miss singing when I'm not singing. I have to have both in my life.
(Adrienne on what music means to her)
Adrienne: It's an expression of my soul. When I'm acting I'm saying someone else's words and when I write music, it's my soul. It's my words and it's nice to have that balance.
(Adrienne describing the sound on her first album, Anomaly)
Adrienne: It's different to anything that's out there. It sounds like a woman doing Coldplay or Radiohead. It has a David Bowie-kind of '60s vibe to it.
(Adrienne on building a recording studio in her house)
Adrienne: I didn't work in it. It's just a fun studio for when I get an idea in the middle of the night, it's not the standard of studio suitable for recording an album. I recorded at The Shed, which is one of the biggest studios in New York, so I ended up living in New York for a couple of months.
Adrienne (on recording her first album, Anomaly): It was an amazing experience but a lot harder than I thought it would be. I thought that once you write the album, that's the hardest part done. But the recording process takes months and months. I wrote over 30 songs and then recorded 14, but only 12 made it to the album. It was so hard. It's like killing off your children.
