    • Dr. Keyes: (on why he didn't call Barak Obama to congratulate him on winning) I'm supposed to make a call that represents the congratulations toward the triumph of that which I believe ultimately stands for ... a culture evil enough to destroy the very soul and heart of my country? I can't do this. And I will not make a false gesture.

    • Dr. Keyes: I would rather get elected to nothing than stand for nothing.

    • Dr. Keyes: I believe that Lincoln was right. He said at one point in his career that everything that we did in American public life was based upon the principles in the Declaration of Independence.

    • Dr. Keyes: The Declaration tells us clearly where rights come from: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed," not by the Constitution, or the Bill of Rights, or the Supreme Court, or anybody else, they're endowed "by their Creator."

    • Dr. Keyes: "Individual merit, without regard to race, religion, or national origin." That is what the civil rights leaders fought for. Not quotas, not privileges, not left-wing collectivist utopian disasters. No. They didn't fight for that.

    • Dr. Keyes: Opinion polls are like the oracles in Ancient Greece, and anybody who pays attention to them will be getting as reliable a response as the ancient pagans used to get from the oracles. They're phony--they exist only in order to manipulate expectations.

    • Dr. Keyes: I will not join the Clinton Democrats who worship government as their god! I will not join the Dole Republicans who worship power as their god! I will not join the Forbes Republicans who worship money as their god! I will stand where the founders of this nation stood, and I will give my respect and allegiance to the creator God who is the ground of justice and who is the ground of all our human rights!

    • Dr. Keyes: On all the matters that touch upon the critical moral issues, Arnold Schwarzenegger is on the evil side.

    • Dr. Keyes: Colorblind means that when a colored person walks in, you suddenly go blind.

    • Dr. Keyes: Those who are recommending that we pull the pro-life plank out of the Republican Party platform are recommending, as some people decided in the Whig Party in the years before the Civil War, that they would be silent on the great issue of principle that faced this nation. And you see what happened to the Whigs.

    • Dr. Keyes: It's empty to praise the courage of the men and women who have died in the service of this country's freedom and its principles, and yet decide that we shall lack the courage to stand up for those principles.

    • Dr. Keyes: We don't have money problems. We have moral problems.

    • Dr. Keyes: We are not going to remain a free people if we insist on being a corrupt and licentious people.

    • Dr. Keyes: It's not possible for us to invoke the authority of God when we claim our rights, and then expect that we can forget the authority of God when we use those rights.
