Alexandra: (If someone she potentially dates has to be a "Hollywood" person) No. It doesn't matter. As long as she could understand my world. I grew up here. My parents are in the business. A lot of my friends are in Hollywood, but they aren't famous. I have friends who are writers, producers, actors and friends who aren't in the business at all.
Alexandra: Luxury is a lovely thing. But when your entire life is about all these things that you've accumulated, it's really depressing. I've certainly been around people that are like that. They are constantly consuming because they are desperately searching for what's going to make them feel better.
Alexandra: (about Rachel Shelley) Oh my God... she's fantastic. She's much, much too pretty, though. It's really not right. No one should really ever have to actually act with her. No one should ever have to be in the same shot as her because it's just really unfair, it's horribly unfair.
Alexandra: I grew up Hollywood. It was like I was the shoemaker's daughter, eventually I'm going to be cobbling shoes! It really is what made sense to me, to act.
Alexandra: (about her coming out) It's sort of shocking to me that in 1985, in Los Angeles, I would think I was the only gay person on the planet.
Alexandra: I loved doing The L Word. But I wasn't going to come back to L.A. and start auditioning. I don't see myself ever going back to that. I don't see myself ever going back to trying to make my living as an actor.
Alexandra: I was an actress when I started taking photographs. I was on a series, making money and... actually, I was attracted to this camera, because I liked the desing of it... I liked the way it opened and closed! It was like this little toy I wanted...
Alexandra:(about working on "The L Word") It was such a nurturing environment, it was great. It was the most fun I've ever had on a set working...
Alexandra: I don't own a dress. I don't own a skirt. I don't own a nice suit. I never have the occasion to dress up. I wear jeans, a T-shirt, and sneakers every day. When you see me out dressed nice, it's something borrowed, something I just threw together kind of desperately at the last minute.
Alexandra: I'm unlikely to date a guy. I'm not opposed in theory, but I would be very surprised if I ended up with a guy.
Alexandra: (answering on question what is your type) Preferably female. Smart, funny, kind. I'm very picky. Someone who is unique, for sure.
Alexandra: I don't take relationships lightly. I'm very loyal, even to myself. It takes me a long time to process things.
Alexandra: I don't believe things happen for a reason but we can choose how we react when things do happen and then make a purpose out of it.
Alexandra: Be who you are - whatever you are.
Alexandra: I have to do my photography because that's my work and it makes me so happy.
Alexandra: I am a photographer. I'm an artist. I'm interested in directing. My photography is what I am mostly concentrated on now and have been for years.
